mugiwara snacks!
Days 1-10 of @huffletrax’s Egotober
Found some time today to do these.
Some were tricky (days 3 & 4), and realising I can’t draw a violin for day 6 was demotivating, however I pushed through, and here’s the result!
Days 7-9 are related. I wanted to draw something other than Anti (because everyone else was) for day 10, so I drew glitchy knife.
I’ll probably be doing these in batches, when I find time.
Please don’t edit/repost! Likes and reblogs appreciated!
I just got a car and started driving again so I was thinking about some safety things for D/deaf/HoH drivers. One huge concern is the possibility of being pulled over and encountering the police.
I have a magnet similar to this on my car in case of that situation
I also keep a notepad and pen in my glove box with my insurance card and registration. I keep everything is in one place so I won’t have to reach around and look like i’m searching for “something”
—-
I also found this article with more information—
https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2016/deaf-driver-safety-police-kb.html
Drivers with hearing loss should be extra cautious when pulled over by the police, as a recent tragedy in North Carolina reminds us. We have
Too many deaf folks have been killed by police, already. Stay safe!
(Hearing people are encouraged to reblog)
I also have a Deaf Driver card
mine is from Gallaudet, so all the information is for DC but its still effective to let an officer know you’re d/Deaf no matter where you are. It goes in the visor of whatever car I’m driving.
Spread this like butter on cornbread.

“You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit.”
— Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Minecraft Manhunt!
enough one word titles, give me book/movie titles that are just straight up run-on sentences.
I know what you did last weekend at Bernie’s on the way to the forum with the producers who shrunk the kids homeward bound to catch a thief
ok but i would watch that movie
You would like the English versions of Some Anime titles then.
the thing is if I give a writing prompt–even a detailed story outline–to 10 different writers, I’m gonna end up with 10 different stories, and be excited to read each and every one.
so I don’t really care if there’s no such thing as an “original idea.” there are plenty of original executions. maybe it’s been done before, but it’s never been done your way.
tags: #also um…there ARE plenty of original ideas? there’s like a bunch of them. including a ton of mediocre and outright terrible ideas bc Original doesn’t automatically equal Good. Also…please write mediocre stories. write mediocre stories bc that is how you LEARN. write mediocre stories bc every good story was written by someone who practiced and practiced by writing mediocre and lousy stories. mediocre is a stepping stone to good. lousy is a stepping stone to mediocre. worse is the precursor to better.
stop shaming people–and especially yourself–for practicing and learning and growing as a creator. if you are making art to the best of your current ability–that is as radical as it gets and I’m proud of you. And you deserve to be proud of yourself. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO MAKE LOUSY ART.
and as someone pointed out in the notes, you don’t have to get better. creating art just for the sake of creating art is so fundamental to the human experience, and everyone should have access to that regardless of ability. creating things is FUN, and we should do more of it without pressuring ourselves to reach milestones just bc we feel like we *should*
guess what? it is good and fine to be an amateur. to do something not bc you have professional goals or want to reach a level of expertise. those are fine motivations too but you need to have things in life you do just bc you LIKE them or want to try something new. trying new things that you are bad at and will always be bad at is actually a huge source of FUN. you deserve the variety and enrichment or trying and learning new things, and of being lousy at them but still having a good time!
