I’ve had enough salt and hate in any other Naruto pairing tag to deal with this bullsh&t in the ones related to my favourite team and characters. We are “lucky” to not have a canon ship among us, so we can peacefuly focus on our fanarts and headcanon and share love with others (unlike what happens with the Team 7 mess)

I’m not even going to say the name of the blogger, because this is the most respectful thing I’ve read from her (so you can imagine how her blog goes):

First of all, sister… calm down. Really, screw to death? It’s just an animated series for kids, how are you dealing with people having different opinions on important matters lol

All team Gai shippers usually get along quite well so the comment is not true at all. My followers, for example, include NejiTen, LeeTen, NejiHina, GaaLee, NejixOC, LeexOC, GaiTen and TemaTen fans (among others)… and we love and respect each other.

Secondly,  TenTen’s reason to not get married was explained in the novels: she has never being interested in love, marriage, boys, etc… she even feels she might be a weird woman (asexual?) for not wishing to get married and become a housewife (since her childhood, only weapons were interesting to her). That’s how special her character is and we should be proud of her for not being just another pairing fodder… she wants to follow her dreams and nothing is going to stop her.

But let’s assume you don’t care about the novels because only the manga counts. If we re-read it the first thing to notice is that she is canonically one of the few female characters with no love interest or goals related to love through the series, like Anko and Kurotsuchi (all of them single by choice).

I believe this person got mad because someone else’s was trying to tell her her point of view of TenTen’s dream was not real (she was sure the dream was about her marrying Neji or shome sh&t). TenTen’s dreamworld is a parody of Naruto SD, TenTen is tired of being the straight-man of the team and wishes for Lee and Gai to be cooler. Neji is alive in that dream (like in Hinata’s and Lee’s) and points out TenTen’s version of a cool man is weird. That’s it! No love… just Team Gai being ridiculous (AND WE LOVE IT) xDDD

The only characters who dreamt about love were Hinata (she was on a date with Naruto), Ino (who was in a love triangle) and Chouji (who finally had found a girl to feed him). Not even Pierrot’s version of TenTen’s dream is about love but about her becoming famous by being an heroine lol

Finally, TenTen’s development through the story can be summarized like this

1- At the begining TenTen believed geniuses were better than hard-working shinobi and tried to stop Lee from being hurt by fighting Neji.

2- Her role in the team back then was training with Neji (who is calmer that the other two) and protecting Lee. She is shown to be sick worried about him 24/7… to the point she even started to dislike Sakura at one point because of this. Nobody hurts her hot-blooded besty!!

3- TenTen’s goal is to become a legendary kunoichi, not romance like Hinata’s or Sakura’s. Kishi is not subtle with romance, if a girl likes someone God knows we’ll have panels and panels wasted on her openly saying so. TenTen’s are all about becoming Tsunade 2.0

4- After watching Neji ’s defeat against Naruto, she realizes how important hard-work and that geniuses being superior is bullsh&t. So TenTen’s final panel is about her finally praising and fangirling over Lee for being the best example we can get. She is shown admiring him while training, with a daydream smile on her face.

5- In part 2 she becomes the straight-man of the team with Neji being the comedy support as Lee and Gai teases him all the time.

6- She finds the legendary tools during war. We see how important this is for her as she seems to forget she is the middle of war (smiling and such)

7- Worries about Lee when he breaks emotionally, ignoring everything else (like happened in part 1, he is trully important to her, remember?). Yet she shows that she remembers her deceased team-mate by including him in a joke later on.

8- Kishi, the madman, adds a Naruto SD joke during her dreamworld scene. TenTen wishes for her team being together again and for Lee/Gai to act cooler. Neji disagrees with her version of an ideal cool man… wonder if that’s the kind of guy she’d be interested in dating. Would be fun for Kishi to include someone like that in the Boruto manga if no other ship becomes canon in the end (there is still a chance for some of us).

9 - After the time-skip she keeps on focusing on her goal of becoming a legendary kunoichi, and opens a store as an excuse to be surrounded by weapons (it’s just a hobby of her, she spends most of the time traveling around the world according to Konoha Shinden). 

10- If we take Konoha Shinden into account. TenTen grows up to become another hot-blooded and inmature dork like Lee and Gai (leaving her old straight-man shell in the past). She loves doing pranks on people and other adults consider her childish (except for Gai, who believes she is cute)

THE END

That’s it. No canon love interest so “x” being dead or alive wouldn’t have changed a thing, but you are free to imagine your own headcanons and alternative universes as we all do (AND DAMM! OUR HEADCANONS ARE AWESOME… AND SO ARE ALL OUR NEXT-GEN ALTERNATIVE BABIES! ALL PRAISE THIS FANDOM’S IMAGINATION… TEAM GAI FANS ARE THE BEST).

It’s cool to be a shipper, but respect others and don’t get mad over things that never happened in canon. Seriously, that lovely fanfic you once read is not real, so be calm and spread love, not dead threats (you are giving your ship a bad name by doing so)
