Like I've seen several people joke about "having to sign a contract of consent" for BDSM and uh

Straight up yall sound like those guys who complain about their wife "faking" a period to not have sex

Consent forms are actually common in BDSM, as well as pre-scene negociations and post-scene checkups, because BDSM practices are way more involved than regular sex, and you're much more likely to hurt your partner if you're not careful.

Obviously you can do whatever in fiction, and even if you want to write a rules-abiding BDSM scene you can't skip the negociations due to the nature of how fiction works, but fr I wonder how many people who only learned about BDSM from fanfics and dark romance tried to do it at home and ended up with permanent physical injuries because they didn't learn how to properly do shibari or flogging.

#I'm barely dipping my toes in it but ressources to learn about and practice BDSM are easy to find nowaday #including in-person meetups
