          IF HE HAD A DIME for every time he’d heard something along those lines , yancy would’ve had enough to leave this dead-end little town the minute he hit the streets. unfortunately for all parties , yancy was right where he was meant to be , weaponless , penniless , dragging on. the only thing of value he owned was his truck , leaned up against it as he was , and yancy was prepared to tell him that , but , y’know , he’d been shushed. 

          maybe getting jacked would be a blessing in disguise. he could show the parole board he hadn’t fought back , he’d been a good little boy , maybe they could throw him a bone. maybe this asshole would just kill him and be over with it all. 

he’s tempted , with the blade now in his corner , to cut himself and see if he still bleeds. 

Prison / ahw - technically main verse , right what you see on the tin. Doesn’t quite know about the bs w / his past, he’s just there and a lil suspicious. For those who canonly end up in the prison / could plausibly be in the prison

Life on Mars - he’s not quite “on parole” but not quite free. He knows too much for dark to let him go ; he roams from pocket dimension to pocket dimension , completely aware and terrified. Mostly for Damien / Celine / Darks and those who choose to use his canon reality

           IT’S NOTHING. IT’S NOTHING. don’t worry , it’s normal.

          it’s what he’d say , if his words weren’t an incomprehensible slurry. 

          yancy swallowed heavily , teeth-trimmed nails scratching at his flushed cheek. he feels like there’s needles in his throat , some weird jacobs ladder formation clogging up his windpipe - when he breathes he wheezes , even if he doesn’t quite mean to. maybe chugging a 40 of bathroom hooch with the boys wasn’t the best idea on a sunday night - maybe he knew alcohol didn’t wear good on him - but that’s why he checked himself out early , woozily crashed before he could listen to tv interrogate him. he hadn’t planned on being this conscious this early , but the urge to purge his system couldn’t be ignored. 

          he hadn’t noticed his cell partner hovering over his shoulder until wearily lifted his head from the communal john , double vision as blurry as his judgement.
