Coming Home Pt 2 | Cybil & Candy
After wrapping up her conversation with Vera, Candy said her goodbyes and looked around the Blind Tiger, looking for a fellow worker. It was dead. There were a few men cleaning up from an apparently crazy night before hand. The young man behind the bar was doing a cleaning of his own. She walked back over to the man who was sweet enough to direct her to Vera and gave him a sweet smile, “you were so helpful before. Do you think you could direct me to Cybil?” The man nodded to her before pointing her backstage. “She should be getting ready for tonight,” he said simply. Candy gave him a wink before making her way backstage. Her heels clicked on the familiar floor. It was strangely comforting being in a place she was so used to, although she hated that she was forced to return.
Candy rounded the corner, remembering the familiar claustrophobia caused by the tight hallway that was crammed with costumes for the girls. She poked her head into a couple dressing rooms, saying hello to familiar faces. Finally, she rounded another corner and found Cybil’s dressing room. Candy lightly tapped on the doorway with a small smile. “Long time no see,” she said with a light giggle.
After her third glass of rose wine, Cybil was feeling ready to fall asleep holding on tight to a stranger. Of course, she couldn't-- at least not straight away. She had just finished pinning up the last lock of curled hair to complete the style, and was reaching back to loosen her corset when she heard the voice of a former floozy.
"Ah, ma cherie! Comment allez-vous?" She greeted the younger woman with arms outstretched. Sure, her chest was nearly spilling out of her partially fastened top, but it wasn't as though they were unfamiliar to the sight of each other's bodies. "To what do I owe zhis wonderful return, Candice?"
