i think the funniest thing about zahndrekh (which like, the levity is needed because Severed is just So Much) is that even when he is lucid its like, he probably just thinks it's really funny to make all of Gidrim's lords go along with him for the bit. Comments to Obyron that he's never seen them so eager to play along and Obyron's like "oh you old bastard you're just tormenting them on purpose aren't you"
It makes banquets a little funnier for him at least
in hindsight given Everything That Happens in Severed it's pretty fucking wild that Setekh does some shit at the start that can be interpreted as a HEH. JEALOUS THAT I GET TO TOUCH YOUR MAN? LOOK. move
Also there's a period of time in Doahht at the end that goes entirely unremarked upon because Obyron is our narrator and is Fucking Unconscious for it but boy, Zahndrekh sure did sit there and wait for him to wake up despite the whole thing starting to collapse, huh.
