ROAD TO THE FUTURE

Shale and Dana, as well as being the only non-inherent and non-elf/humanoid students on their courses, are they only two who had to have their university sweatshirts tailored for them, rather than churned out via magical loom.   Dana, being both charismatic and attractive to most species standards, managed to get hers made with a hood and extra strong stitching to the arms as well as several charms to keep it fresh and clean, even with all those extra work out sessions.   (i dunno, i guess, i just get so hot during my kickboxing studies, Dana casually mentioned whilst the trainee seamster flustered and blushed and dropped many, many pins as they attempted to measure her biceps)  Shale’s measuring session took about 5 minutes and despite the assurances of said seamster that the same care went into both items, she’s pretty sure they just took one of the jumpers from the stuffed toys in the uni gift shop and applied a clumsy enlargement charm.   Obviously it didn’t matter to Shale, she was above such material matters, especially clothes and all the emphasis everyone above ground seemed to put on them. To goblins, clothes kept you dry or warm or less naked or if you were lucky, all the above. She didn’t understand the fuss.   It was…fine.  It did please her however, when her jumper was accidentally left with Dana after a study session, after all the unpleasantness from the big project was settled and behind them, to find that the Hero had used her fine sewing skills (from necessity, Dana would say, I’m big and four armed, it helps to know how to sew) and sewed some little patterns and flowers and what looked like safety charms on the inside.  Shale liked her jumper better after that.
