The atmosphere turned awkward, just a bit, though perhaps that was only on Adam’s side. It still seemed a bit weird to him when Dean acted like a brother, since they were practically strangers to one another. But if any day was as good as any to act like family, it was on his birthday.

Adam might have let the day slip by, ignore it completely, if Dean hadn’t brought it up. Blue eyes land on the present in front of him, almost hesitant to touch it lest he ruin the image of it. But he knew he’d have to ruin the nicely wrapped box sooner or later. He finally took it, only removing enough wrapping paper to open the box and retrieve the gift inside.

He weighed the pistol in his hand, gently turning it over to look at it properly. He wasn’t exactly surprised that this was what Dean got him. After all, as hunters, having a gun was important. Still, Adam couldn’t help but feel a little pleased with it. A small smile tugged at his lips.

“I should hope there’s gonna be food and drinks later, considering we have to eat to live.” He joked. Lifting his gaze towards Dean, the smile grew slightly. “Thanks, Dean.”
