he wasn’t a “mistake.” even though there’s a big rumor that one of the kagamines wasn’t intended and stuff (rin was told that but she doesn’t want to know which one anyway. it won’t change anything. she’s still her and he’s still him. there. it must be nice to able to shrug it off like that, but then again, she’s sneaky. it probably affects her a bit, but he just can’t see it in time. ..kind of useless of him.), it’s really not like that.

             to be honest, the whole “unintended kagamine” thing is only half the truth. crypton future media co.’s a big company. “mistakes” like making two cv02 modules instead of one don’t happen. there’s a lot that goes into coding and programming and even if someone were to try to pull a practical joke by splitting the program into two separate codes, somewhere along the assembly line, the mistake would be caught & corrected, and the employee would be dealt with accordingly. so that wasn’t the case.

both halves of “mirror sound” were intended to be produced, but only one half of it was intended to be the “main” one, the one with the most attention and songs, while the other piece of coding existed as “back up” meant to complement and exaggerate the attributes of the “main.” if it isn’t obvious enough, the “main” is kagamine rin. the “older” sister, the “first,” the “original.” there’s a reason it’s kagamine rin and len, not kagamine len and kagamine rin, or kagamine rin and kagamine len. the “len” part is just an afterthought, extraneous. he doesn’t need to be there. he just exists to make her look good. he’s meant to create the “twin troupe” image in order to keep cv02 unique. he’s meant for balance. he’s meant to make sure that cv02 is not confused with crypton’s no. 1 mascot, cv01. but still, despite her being completely “independent” (or so that was how she was built to function), he still needs her. that’s what was intended to happen. what a poisonous mindset huh.

( and maybe that’s even worse than being a mistake. )

                 but what was intended to happen didn’t necessarily happen as planned. the “error” that was caused the whole rumor thing was that kagamine len didn’t turn out to be just a “back up” and their polar personalities didn’t stay intact. while the two originally existed as complements, as time passed, they rubbed off on each other — kagamine rin slowly matured, while kagamine len’s personality took on a more lax and easygoing, less critical, personality. they adapted. a little bit of change here, a little bit of change there. and it worked out, well, almost perfectly. there was a cool kind of balance to it. they were able to understand each other better — whether it be through intuition, observations, vibes, whatever. they just..resonated with each other. to the point where there was no “back-up,” no “superior” cv02 unit. they were able to go solo for songs and still sound great, but that type of kagamine-dependence still existed. but it wasn’t all one-sided.

                  who knows how it happened. he’s pretty sure it wasn’t programmed for kagamine rin to be “dependent” after all the things he’s heard about how “great” she was meant to be from the managers and stuff. but then again, she’s a pretty unpredictable girl. it’s almost as if she lives to go against the flow, y’know, trying to handle the impossible and whatever. she’s just that type of person. so maybe some of his dependence rubbed off onto her? nah. maybe not. maybe that idiot actually thinks that she needs him. ahahaa.. feels nice to be needed, as selfish as it might sound. (so maybe her selfishness rubbed onto him too, huh?) leave it to her to get emotions involved. extraneous or not, she seems to always treat him for who he is. and that’s why he wants to — needs to — make her happy. not because he’s some “back-up” (even if that influenced a lot of his past mindset), but because he’s kagamine len and she’s kagamine rin. they’re a team.

he keeps this all to himself though. no sense in making a big deal out of stuff. no need to cause more drama for the fanbase either. anyway, he’s pretty sure that even if he did make that info public, a certain kagamine rin would punch him in the stomach for him calling himself something “unnecessary.”

besides. it’s not like it matters anyway. even when that girl takes over the world and calls it “kagamination” or whatever “witty and original” pun she has in mind, he’ll still be there for her to fall back on. or maybe not. maybe he’ll get out of his shell a bit more and rebel a bit and rule along side with the queen of overlords himself. so maybe he won’t mind the dynamic duo being called just “kagamine rin and len” a bit longer — who cares about what they think anyway. if she doesn’t let what they say bother her, then he’ll do the same. screw them.
