Here's my TV show idea, this is wishful thinking but if you want to make fanfics/little headcanons, quotes or more for the characters (hobbies and mannerisms included), just make sure to credit me!
- Set in the early 2000s of downtown Chicago, a secret spy organization (The Bureau) is sent all around the city (and the world) to kill any remaining Nazis, hunt the supernatural, stop ancient threats (Dracula, Baba Yaga, etc), all while trying stop crimes committed by the corrupted humanity they call America.
Female Lead - Chloe Bennet.
- Plays Natalie Liu, the director and field supervisor of The Bureau. She has a degree in the medical field and a masters in monster slaying, which makes a double edged sword, she's calm, calculated and is overly swift to take down anyone who poses a threat to her, or her team.
- Plays Everett Chen, an ex-field specialist with a key eye for finding things others would miss, like bullet shards or hidden doors. He has a degree in the logistics department and is overly confident when it comes to his intelligence, he's ruthless, caring and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure his found family (the team) are alive until the end.
Joe Keery - Terrence Montgomery.
- Starts out as a rookie agent in the field for the first season, and then rapidly becomes the fields medical specialist, which brings Alex's attention to him, slowly but surely they start a relationship, ending season four with Alex and him in an established relationship, and hoping for marriage.
- Plays The Bureau's supernatural specialist, she knows anything and everything about the supernatural, ranging from the hunting pattern for Wendigo's, to the body count of Dracula himself, she doesn't get a love interest because she's the asexual rep for the show.
Victoria Pedretti - Allison Brown (Liu).
- Plays the wife of Natalie (Slow Burn), she's psychotically smart, coming from a long line of serial killers, she plays the main antagonist of the first three seasons until she switches sides when it's revealed her mother was..well you know by her father, thus why she joins The Bureau in the beginning of season 4, and then gets married to Natalie at the end of season 5.
Okay for the first two seasons, I was thinking the show should be very early Supernatural, so like each episode is a monster of the week, I made these episodes and figured they'd be the fan favorite episodes
1x01 - "We're Not In China anymore." (Wizard Of Oz reference):
Everett Chen and Natalie Liu are transported by the organization from China to America (Downtown Chicago) to start another bureau in the country after the last one was slaughtered by Gorgons, the monster of this episode is a shapeshifter that makes the team come closer rather quickly.
1x02 - "It's A Bird, It's A House, It's A Yaga." (Clear reference to Baba Yaga's walking birdhouse):
Terrence joins the team when it's revealed him and Allison are cousins, he's overly clumsy and lacks proper skills, Natalie wants to boot him, but Everett sees something in him that others don't, and that's where Terrence and Everett's spark starts. (The spark is the first moment two soulmates meet in this universe, tying their fates together immediately), meanwhile Natalie and Zara tracked the great x70 granddaughter of Baba Yaga, Allison Brown, a satanic witch with an agenda that would destroy everything.
1x06 - "The Fight-Club": An underground fighting ring for bloodhounds (vampire-werewolf hybrids) is exposed on state television, thus forcing The Bureau to shut it down and cover it up as a boxing club for cosplayers before national TV gets ahold of the footage.
1x08 - "I Saw Mommy Kissing A Deadman": A zombie infiltrates a woman's house and starts a romantic affair with her, causing the team to take out the deadman before he kills the children, until it's revealed he's the children's dead father, and the team has to make the call on separating these people's family again, or letting the zombie eventually slaughter them.
1x10 - "Blood Rituals, And Pride Parades": The team gears up for their first pride parade in Chicago, Everett and Terrence have a date at a coffee shop, Zara notices the parade is a coverup for homophobic vampires to feed, and Natalie confronts Allison on the rooftop..and their spark activates, forcing them to choose between the love of their life, or the survival of their people.
1x13 - "The Mirror Has Two Faces": The Bureau discovers that one of the Gorgons from the 1987 massacre is located the the uptown of the city. Itβs hiding in a high-end art gallery in the Loop, "sculpting" victims into stone. Natalie has to grapple with her past trauma while Terrence proves his worth by using medical knowledge to "reverse" a partial petrification on Everett. Lana Parillia guest-stars as Terrence's witch Stepmother (a clear reference to the later seasons of Regina Mills in Once Upon A Time)
1x19 - "Deep Dish Death": A "human" threat. A disgruntled scientist uses a prototype cloaking suit to assassinate city officials. This highlights the "corrupted humanity" aspect of the show. Everettβs "keen eye" is the only thing that can track the slight displacement of air, forcing him to lead the field mission for the first time.
1x25 - "The Last Dance in Chicago": During a heavy winter storm, the team is trapped in a remote outpost while hunting one of Krampus's Wendigo's (this show makes Wendigo's the demon counterparts of deer). Tensions boil over as Zara reveals she knows about Natalie and Allisonβs "Spark." The episode ends with Allison appearing not to kill them, but to offer a cryptic warning about a bigger "Ancient Threat" rising under the city. (Setting up the resurrection of Baba Yaga in season 2).
2x01 - "Love-Shack": The team gets lost in a mineshaft labyrinth, forcing all four of them (Zara, Natalie, Terrence, Everett) to overcome their greatest fears, for Zara it's being too stupid to protect her family, Natalie's is starting a life with Allison and losing everybody else, Terrence's is his father finding out about him and Everett's relationship which leads to the break up, Everett's is being broken up with by Terrence (the only fear that comes true) and falling back into work. The labyrinth was created and designed by the Roman trickster gremlin Amarthiun (Justin Hartley), and cursed by the Siren Sorceress Leguria (Jurnee Smollett), who appear separately to all four, as a sort of cryptic guide.
2x06 - "The Black Widow From Hell": A spider demon (in the form of a black widow) is released from the gates of hell located in Mount Verby (a fictional mountain in the wooded parts of Chicago), and begins feeding on children, the team must kill the demon without killing the kids, unfortunately this doesn't work, Natalie and Zara are tasked with telling the families that their children aren't coming home. (More emotional episode, seen as a controversial episode due to the murder of children).
2x12 - "Eros, Strike Me.": The show opens with Eros (female in this universe, portrayed by Leah Jefferies), flying above Chicago, until she's struck down into a Valentine's Dance at a local high school, Everett and Terrence are tasked with retrieval, later adopting her together despite still being broken up. (securing Leah Jefferies as a cameo character every episode or so).
2x16 - "Lady Of The Underworld.": La Muerte is summoned to Chicago after twelve teens accidentally do a ritual (removal of virginity, underage drinking, accidental death). The team has to confront the eternal death goddess, while also confronting their confusion on how La Muerte exists when she's a fairytale character from The Book Of Life, Zara finds out that La Muerte exists due to her popular fanbase, and just wants to meet them. (Portrayed by Melissa Barrera).
2x19 - "Livin On A Prayer": A Christian cult gathers in a church located on Mount Verby, convinced that the Lord needs sacrifices, however they are soon possessed beezlebub, Lord of flies and are sent to kill the team, the team sweeps through them with ease but Natalie struggles with her Christian beliefs due to staining a church with innocent blood (technically).
2x22 - "Turn The Tide": A group of sirens (led by Arissa, portrayed by Kiernan Shipka), infiltrates downtown Maine, the team travels through the states to stop this sirenic cult, only to realize that sirens are the most lethal species, due to their hypnotic voices and precise mind dwelling, Terrence and Everett finally kiss, breaking the siren spell, and sending them back to Blue Hell (a separate dimension from hell, it's more like the aquatic equivalent of hell but it's murky, scalding cold and basically an eternal ice age).
2x23 - "Flesh Eating President": Newly elected President Robert Matthews has kidnapped a bunch of democratic officials and locked them in the underground White House Labyrinth, at night he hunts them down like a sickening game of hide and seek before feasting on them, the team has to neutralize him, all while making sure to not get this story out.
2x24 - "Return Of The Yaga": Baba Yaga (portrayed by multiple actresses) is resurrected from White Castle, an afterlife for the most dangerous supernatural beings such as Baba Yaga, Dracula, etc, and starts literal hell on earth, until the team defeats her via a blood spell by Allison, who was forced to send her grandmother back or to be murdered, and of course she chose not to die.
5x06 - "The Beehive Of Death": Introduces killer bees as the monster of the week, however instead of being regularly sized, these are basically kaijus (not insanely large but as big as half of the Statue Of Liberty), largely and heavily detailed bees with lethal venom stingers and saliva, the show will keep one around as a sort of pet to Terrence, which also introduces his animal telepathy, linking him to a subspecies of werewolves known as werewhispers
I've already prepared viewer Discretion for these four episodes;
"Blood Rituals, And Pride Parades."
"I Saw Mommy Kissing A Deadman."
"The Blackwidow From Hell."
"Flesh Eating President."
[WARNING: CONTENT ADVISORY]
Episode 1x05 / 2x02: This program contains intense sequences of violence involving minors and depictions of hate-motivated crimes. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
Episode 2x07: Depicts graphic violence and cannibalism involving government officials. This content is purely fictional and intended for mature audiences only.
Episode 1x04: Contains disturbing imagery related to necrophilia and domestic trauma
Also, essentially, since TV-MA ratings are the television equivalent to Rated R films, the warnings act more as reminders that this isn't Supernatural Or Agents Of Shield, it's an actual horror-fantansy show that isn't gonna water itself down because viewers signed up for gore and mythos, they will get exactly that, not to mention the vast racial and LGBTQ representation
Anna Diop (Asexual and black rep)
Alex Landi (Korean and bisexual rep)
Chloe Bennet (Asian/Chinese and lesbian rep)
Melissa Barrera (Latina Rep)
Leah Jefferies (Young Talent + black rep)
Justin Hartley (Older rep)
Jurnee Smollett (Fresh face rep)
Plus, the show is about freaks finding a family, Terrence is clumsy and gay, Everett is overly stoic and a horror fanatic, Natalie is lesbian and Christian, Anna is highly intelligent and black (in the 2000s, she would've been silenced often), I feel like this is something our world really needs right now, a show that shows the representation of those often silenced + to bring back real horror.
I also tried to make sure each episode was spread decently throughout the season, that way each special episode wasn't clumped together, I figured making sure the cast wasn't overly expensive but also heavy hitters in the acting department was important, I also tried to make sure each of these special episodes had at least one reason why it was special
I also thought if the show got enough hype, they could have a larger budget + fanbase (like Supernatural, Buffy, Charmed, etc) which would mean hopeful cameos from Jensen Ackles, Sarah Michelle Geller, etc
Also for other dimensions I was thinking
The Upside-Web; a hellscape where spider demons live, feasting on children from all over the planet, and are highly lethal, hence why the team failed against the Black Widow, and why she crawled back through the mountain into her dimension, the Black Widow's are the strongest of their species hence why they are sent out as the hunters (mostly).
The Lavender Void: A place where everything and everyone is constantly re-living their worst memories or their best memories, which is why it's lavender, the most neutral color is purple, it's neither officially good or evil, and neither is the void, it doesn't decide what trials you will go through, your personality does.
Domain Of The Yaga: A dimension inside Baba Yaga's Walking Birdhouse which is essentially an endless homey labyrinth, in order to escape, you have to leave the way you came, which is easier said than done because the second you open the door, it disappears and you have to find your way back to the room you appeared in.
Planet Of Honey: The original planet where the bee kaijus originate from, this planet is essentially one massive beehive with honey dripping everywhere, liquid honey lakes, etc.
Leviathan's Waterworld: The great and terrifying leviathan resides in an interdimensional ocean that surrounds the White Castle, essentially guarding it for all of eternity, beings like The Frankenstein (Scientist), Dracula, etc are trapped here for their crimes, only way through the water is to face the Leviathan's Glowing eyes and be pure of heart (which is why Terrence is the only one who will pass).
Original Songs for the show/songs featured:
Tonight is The Night I'll Die: Sung by Chloe Bennet and Joe Keery (they both have known musical ability)
Last Week, Future Month (Theme song for the show)
Monster Of The Week (theme playing for every introduction to the monster of that episode)
Supernatural: Introduced in season two, sung by SZA
We Didn't Start The Fire (Finale Song, Memorial For Natalie and Everett)
