Wonseok hadn’t known how right he’d been when he had said the student had a mean temper. Hodol had simply vanished and Seojoon and Joohee went without tutoring for a day or two. Seojoon, in his typical air headed manner, hadn’t asked for more details. Wonseok wasn’t sure if he should be frustrated or glad. Not knowing what had happened to Hodol meant he could hope for the best. But the void in his knowledge provided Wonseok with images of the worst. 

It wasn’t until Park Seokmin came running up, video playing on his cell phone that Wonseok knew the full brunt of the student’s bad temper and just how bad things had been.

And even worse was the pain in his chest, seeing Hodol’s expression in the video.

Accepting yourself was hard and coming out was harder. Survival was never a word truly used for the ordeal, but sometimes it was the most apt of all. But being forced out as a cruel joke, having that decision taken away from you, it was bound to be worse. Wonseok felt phantom pains from his wrist as the video started playing again. Seokmin continued to ramble, unaware that Wonseok had stopped paying attention. 

The only thing on his mind was Hodol.

Joo Wonseok knows he isn’t nice. No one in his family is, with the exception of Seoyeon (and sometimes that’s a stretch). The trail of broken hearts in many women (and men in his case) written in social media and the damage to Seoyeon’s psyche are proof that he and his brothers are a menace to society. 

But as he looks down on Choi Hodol’s sleeping form, a new variable that has yet to be sorted into the proper mental categories (cute, he drools, doesn’t snore, painfully boring underwear,  thankfully not a blanket hog, you cannot kick him out in the morning), Wonseok asks himself how he got here.
