Hello.   If you have even the slightest allergy to nickel, please please know that Essure has nickel...and your body will likely have a reaction.   My body had a reaction, i had no prior reaction to nickel until about 1.5 years after getting Essure.   My symptoms of nickel sensitivity ruined my life for years until I had major surgery to remove Essure.     The manufacturer of Essure just updated it's website to list info on Nickel Allergy and problems with Essure for people with nickel sensitivity.  Until 2011, the FDA warned ladies with nickel allergy to not get Essure, the warning wording was changed, the product was not changed, now some doctors and ladies think it they have a nickel allergy it is not big deal.  UM.... the device has nickel that did not change so i am not sure why the FDA allowed the change for the nickel warning wording.    Think for yourself - if you have a nickel allergy do you want nickel in your body?
