And to celebrate it in my own way, here's a screenshot that represents the average Filipino starter household. The concrete walls and flooring tell so much that the home is pretty much unfinished, but the average Pinoy can surely tell it's already liveable enough, as the finishing touches would only proceed once there is already enough budget—that must be worked on hard enough since wages here aren't so generous. And since most of the budget was poured on the structure, you can only count on cheap furnishings to make the home complete. Thankfully we have a lot of plastic furniture makers to count on, that specialize on wardrobes and chairs, foldable dining tables, and a whole lot more. Though some might have a delicately crafted wooden furniture included as part of their family heirloom, most likely an inheritance from a close elder relative who had already passed.
Also, as most Filipinos are being generous in nature, some businesses are very much willing on giving tokens to their most loyal customers, such as calendars that are mostly given during the Christmas season. So you'll happen to find a calendar with some business' name written on top of it in almost every home. And in some homes these calendars are joined with celebrity posters (even ones with their favorite politician's face lol), or even another calendar with a girl posing pin-up on the side. And with the electricity consumption costs rising, one can't just afford to install an air conditioning unit right away, so thankfully electric fans (in all shapes and sizes) exist, that serve as alternative to cool down in a room (though these won't be enough on days where the heat is on the most extreme especially during April and May).
So there you have it! I just though of a way to celebrate my heritage on this important day in my homeland. So I looked for items that I could use for this screenshot, and thankfully I found some TS4 stuff that scream "Filipino" to be converted. These should be released soon as I'm still making some finshing touches.
