🛑 Stop Working for Exposure (Mathematically)
I'm an artist and medical student, and I use art to help me pay some bills.
I built a free, helpful tool because to help prevent other talented creatives from undercharging, as I really see this a lot online.
It's a calculator with a built in reality check
Input your survival costs and expenses
True billable hours
Get the rate you actually need to charge to hit a 20% (or whatever you choose) profit margin.
It generates the rate, a template negotiation email + final invoice.
Plan to keep this tool free, ad-free, and open to everyone.
🔗 Check your math: fairpaycalc.artres.xyz
If the "Thriving Rate" calculation empowers you to double your quote on your next job, please consider hitting the "Buy me a coffee"button. It keeps the server running and the code flowing <3
I am an artist and medical student and creator of Art-Res, a blog where I write and curate art resources. Hopefully you find art that bring
Thank you for all who tried/spread awareness of the tool and also to people who tipped, truly touched by the support and it means the world! <3
YUZU GREEN TEA - Soap inspired by the Dog Cafe of my dreams. A sweet blend of bright yuzu, sparkling citron, wild violet, and herbal green tea harmonize in a cup of golden citrus sunshine.
DEMON LORD LUO BINGHE - Soap inspired by SCUM VILLAIN self saving system. :'3
Snowy white vanilla infused with musky-sweet demon’s blood, cracked pepper, black patchouli, spiced cinnamon leaf, the irresistible, sensual allure of outrageous protagonist armor.
.
what's there to say? this is actually my favorite scent (it's the same one as I use for my Zagreus Hadesgame soap) it's dark and sexy and sweet and spicy and smoky.... yum (at this point i must CYA and say: you cannot eat the soap.)
the chevrons (pointed layers) of the design are always a bit of a pain to make, but i'm always happy when they turn out.
SANDU SHENGSHOU JIANG CHENG - Soap inspired by MDZS / The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.
The gathering storm, righteous rage, roiling clouds and the tang of ozone, glimmers of freesia and green cucumber washed away with the bright blooms of Lotus Pier.
.
i love making the lotus leaf top for this soap... :'3 the final soap smells like heavy gray clouds overhead, just before the rain begins to fall.

LIANFANG-ZUN JIN GUANYAO - Soap inspired by MXTX / The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation!
A heady, sparkling perfume of bright peony and cassis, dazzling the world while masking darker notes of sandalwood, cloudy amber, and bitter musk.
.
this is THE PRETTIEST SCENT imaginable for a dude who has definitely committed no terrible crimes and done no awful things in his life. :'3 it was hard to incorporate the blood red & pitch black swirls into this soap design in a way that didn't detract from the 'surface level' golds and creams and yellows. i still feel that the colors are a little overwhelming, but maybe that's... fitting... for the character.
LORD AIRAVIS, LORD OF THE WING - Soap inspired by Squak Airavis from Dimension 20's A Court of Fey & Flowers. A sensual and iconic blend of black lavender and airy musk, touched by luxurious vanilla, a caress of sultry amber, and sweetened with spiced citrus (and fat royalty checks rolling in from the Broadway adaptation of The Green Hunter.)

This is. One of my sexiest fragrances. I'm just saying. The downside is that it turns soap brown, which I tried to counteract with limited success, so the gray ombre I was shooting for is more of a tan ombre instead. I DO like the effect of soaring high over misty mountains though. :'3
“Final Threshold” is scented in Bergamont and Honey. Described as strawberry, bergamot, and tropical passionflower. These notes mingle with sweet honey, almond, and rose geranium as the middle notes. Resinous olibanum and aromatic balsams blend together to create the base notes. Coming this Friday, March 31st at 8am! "Hedge Witch" will be coming at 8am PST, so make sure to set your reminders as each design will only have 15 bars available.

Handmade soap set #1
I love homemade soaps and I make them myself at home😍
What makes it different from store-bought soaps is, first of all, the price. Handmade soaps are twice as expensive as store-bought soaps.
The reason for this is that handmade soaps are made in a different way and with different ingredients than store-bought soaps, and they need to be aged and dried for a month, in short, homemade soaps require more time and costs.
It would take too long to talk about my love for handmade soaps, so I will leave it for another time😅
So, here is the first set of handmade soaps.
Hope you like them.

I am SO happy this exists.
March Soaps!
Hishi Mochi for Hina Matsuri / Girl's Day Festival on March 3rd.
Snow Drop, an attempt at a drop swirl that turned into splash swirl with a whisk because the batter thickened up too quickly.
Sakura Cherry Blossom soap because of course, and its almost Cherry Blossom season!
And finally Cheshire Cat because two of my soaps from last month were also Alice in Wonderland themed, and I needed to test out all my new purple micas with my recipe, so stripes it was.
February Soaps (cause tumblr is being a butt and struggling with letting me upload pictures) Mad Hatter's Mystic/Poisoned Tea and Topsy Turvey Bonsai. Both attempts at the Soap Challenge Club, and both not what I wanted but smell delicious.
The other February soaps were chocolate boxes, but they were melt and pour and didn't sell very well, but I had a really fun time making them!

So I have the soap that I messed up while making, so I want to reuse it in a new soap, either by laying it down like this and pouring a different batch of soap around it, or standing them up and turning them into rectangles and various sizes.
I think the main thing I'm contemplating right now is an ombre effect, and use it as a chance to test how much titanium dioxide I really need in my soap to make it white. Maybe I would start with my plain soap batter at the bottom, the next pour would have 1/8 of a teaspoon of TD, the pour after that would be 1/4 of a teaspoon, etc.
Other than that, I'm struggling with a color palette to complement these three colors. Help me pick?
Anyway if you see this you have to reblog and tag with a delight from ur day -- even the littlest thing counts
