I’ve had problems with these tubes for my whole life just due to like idk the way my body is formed. They can’t really be fixed. My whole body is moderately lopsided. The ones on the right side are too narrow which leads to that ear getting plugged a lot and the ones on the left are too wide which leads to stuff from my mouth and nose getting in there and causing ear infections.

Despite having these issues I still manage to forget that I have them lol. My right ear being plugged sometimes is just a part of my life I don’t think about much anymore.

I’ve never had stomach acid get in there before though which is why this issue was so confusing.

I had a phone appointment with my doctor about it and I’m gonna start taking an h2 inhibitor and eating more fiber before bed to control my stomach acid a bit better. We don’t want acid slowly damaging my inner ears after all.

in my hermit au (after owca is revealed as less-than-good francis monogram self-exiles himself to a small island in maine where he resides over an owca reservation / rescue) francis & carl doesn’t have contact at all for three years and monty’s contact w his dad is sparse and awkward at best.

with francis gone, carl & monty are at the center of trying to rebuild owca into something good + turn it back to what it originally was (an organisation created by animals to fight crime). carl would be haunted by the fact that the man he saw as his father figure + mentor is just… a lie. and everything he was raised with / taught into is… wrong. carl would /want/ owca to be good but i think he would struggle with it in a way because to him, what he thought was good, is not. i feel like this would haunt him a lot and make him quite reclusive as well / struggling how to deal w/ it. think it would be a journey for carl to come to terms with who francis + owca really is and understand his own role / relation in it.

on monty’s side, i think he would almost be… relieved? like he was a shit dad so the fact that he’s at least in part responsible for a shit organisation (not fully but i’ll delve into francis’ stuff another day) and this means like, it’s not just in monty’s head, but there’s actual proof. and i also think for him there would be that idea of wanting to step up after his father and grandfather, be a good person in this legacy, be someone that can bring back owca to the glory days. and i think he would be very focused on it and also wanting to showcase that *he* is good at this while i also think some of the ideas of francis would also be stuck in him.
