Well, I'd say just tell them how you feel! Or, bottle your feelings deep down inside and never confront them even though you've loved her since the moment you set eyes on her and you've loved her ever since, and hide those feelings so long that your friend comes along and tells her how she feels about her first and so now they're dating each other and you've woken from losing your memory of the past few months realising you've missed your chance and you'll never be with her because you were too afraid.

But I wouldn't recommend that, generally.
