the only absolute reasons that a person would be told they can NEVER get HRT is: hormone linked cancer (in themselves, not just one in their family members) or specific types of non-cancerous brain tumor (for MtF).  For FtM, there is none- the only thing similar is they can NEVER get HRT (during the length of) while pregnant with a pregnancy they are not intending to abort. 

Other than that, there are a handful of conditions that may be required to be under control to a greater or lesser extent, and that extent will depend on your prescribing doctor how much things need to be under control BEFORE starting.  Generally,  you need to be able to be sane enough to understand what HRT is going to do for you, what it won’t do for you, and to be able to understand what is real in the world and what isn’t (you can have hallucinations and delusions if you can identify that they aren’t real, no worries).  This is so the doctor can ensure that it’s really YOU who freely wants the hormones and not a command hallucination.  Generally, you need to have moderately well-controlled blood pressure, sleep apnea issues, diabetes, and cholesterol, as hormones (both types) can be a risk for some or all of these things to become less well controlled.  Getting them in control to start with makes things easier to keep in control while you stay on HRT.  This isn’t mandatory for all doctors, just a “normally”It doesn’t mean you’ll be banned from hormones if you don’t- it usually means they’ll want you to start a med to get things in check if you need one. 

very few people have medical or legitimate reasons why they can NEVER start.  many many more people encounter doctors who gate keep.  you can always seek a different doctor if you feel you’re being stopped for unreasonable reasons. 

it’s normal to be worried when you’re waiting around to start, but by and large almost everyone who really wants HRT for actual transgender reasons (defined by that person, i’m not here to define who is trans and not) qualifies for it.  it’s just a matter of linking people to the right resources.

They are rolling out a program where if you get a sale from an ad they put out, they’re taking 12-15% of the profit(probably on top of the like, 5%ish+ they already take). Even worse, if you have clicked an Etsy ad in the last 30 days ANYONE YOU BUY FROM ON ETSY IN THAT PERIOD WILL BE BILLED THAT FEE. 

So please, if you see an ad for something you like off etsy, do not click it. Just go on etsy and search for it.

Condisexual: When your orientation is dependent on various conditions (where you are, who you’re around, kin shifts, systems, etc). At any given time you may be any given orientation (within what you can experience, of course.)

Coined mostly to mean -sexual and -romantic orientations (Split or not), so it can be seen as being both M-specflux and aceflux+aroflux at the same time. However you can use it as condisensual or any other term if you want.

Anyone have any input on this? It’s trickier to coin this one since it’s supposed to mean sexual/romantic so I’m not sure.

A Salvadoran trans woman died in ICE custody on June 1, the first day of Pride Month. 

Johana Medina was a migrant from El Salvador. She was seeking asylum in the U.S.

Known to her friends as Joa, Johana passed away Saturday night from complications due to HIV/AIDS. Her death was announced on the Diversidad Sin Fronteras Facebook page on Sunday.

these days were crazy days. during these days I was homeless. I was kidnapped. I was beaten. I was raped. I was abused. I survived. I never had a place to call home. I traveled from state to state, hoping the same problems wouldn’t be in the next town, the next state line, but they always were.

I am still just as trans, just as queer, and just as radical as before, but a lot of things have changed. for one thing, I’m a mother. that little Baby Bear right there is my best friend. she’s the light of my world. more than that, she’s the savior of my life. because of her, I’ve stopped the drugs. 

because of her, I’ve found the desire for an actual fucking future. because of her, I learned to love myself enough to be with a man who truly loves me, appreciates me, and treats me exactly the way my ex-abusers all claimed I didn’t deserve. 

this man is named Wes. he’s a felon. he’s also incredible with my daughter. he’s loving, and he’s kind. he has given up so much for me because he truly believes that my daughter and I deserve to be loved, and to live a stable life, and that I deserve a chance to recover from everything up until now. 

Wes is also disabled. he has a broken back. he walks with a cane and I truly believe that if we cannot get him further help soon, we will have to put him in a wheelchair.

as someone with both felonies (which, as a kid, he was tried as an adult and has been charged with ZERO crimes in the 13 years since he has been out of prison) AND disability, Wes struggles to find work, and we have concluded that it is nearly impossible for him to. we are applying for disability, and I know that will take a long, long time before that can be factored in to our very small budget. he has no insurance, and trying to get help that will actually HEAL him is extremely difficult since the only options for healthcare in his case are emergency rooms.

we are in desperate need of help. I am a server at a restaurant with a one year old daughter and my partner is a disabled felon who would struggle to find work even if his back were not broken. we desperately want to find him medical assistance, and we are so incredibly in need of help with bills, but my primary goal is to get the love of my life and the incredible caretaker and secondary parent of my child to one day be able to walk without excruciating pain.

TL;DR me, my daughter who saved my life, and the man who has healed me from two decades of trauma are in desperate need of financial assistance, particularly to get my partner the medical help he needs before he cannot walk at all.
