âI could call the driver for you now.â Linette offered happily. âAnd notify Master Incern of your whereabouts so he wonât be concerned. If you want I can show you around town as well.~â The maid clearly was perfectly fine making such offers and seemed to very much so like her job.Â
âThat or we could wait for him to return from his work call. He shouldnât take too long, and I can finish showing you about the manor until he returns.âÂ
She does seem happy....which could be a good sign. She still doesnât trust this, but maybe....it wonât be as awful as she thought from Liamâs hot-and-cold impression in the car.
Sighing softly, she tugs a lock of hair, tucking it behind her ear. âMight be best to finish being shown around here before going out-so Iâll hopefully be able to find my way around on my own.â

Itâs 2020 and itâs time to acknowledge that while the labels of bisexuality and pansexuality are important to individuals and should be respected, the overlap between the two is so large that we should move past trying to distinguish between them in order to validate them - we should be able to validate the experience of every bisexual and every pansexual without telling them how their experiences differ (or âshouldâ differ) from each other.
Every time you say âwell, only pansexuals experience attraction regardless of genderâ a bisexual who experiences attraction regardless of gender feels like their label is being invalidated. Same for any other attempted distinction of pansexuality.
Every time you say âwell, only bisexuals experience attraction to same and other genders,â a pansexual who thinks of their sexuality as attraction to same and other genders feels like their label is being invalidated. Same for any other distinction of bisexuality.
And in 2020 it is absolutely, positively time to move past bi vs. pan. Itâs time for bi + pan. We are allies to one another, friends, and lovers, and both labels can be valid without invalidating each other.
Biphobes, panphobes, and transphobes, do NOT interact.

Ruby gives a soft hum to confirm that she heard, following Linette closely. Itâs clear sheâll get lost here easily, with how big it is.Â
All the more reason to explore, she supposes. Sheâs shaken from her thoughts when they stop, stepping into the room and looking around-barely able to keep her awe from showing. And then she called it bland!
âStars above, if this is bland, I canât even imagine what youâd consider extravagant.â She comments, turning to face the other woman again and accepting the envelope, opening it and tugging outâŚ..a credit card? In her name?
With no actual note. That just prompts more questions than anything-is this for emergencies? For running errands for the household? For her to get things she wants needs?
Linette couldnât help but giggle at that. She really only meant the fact that the room lacked any personal touch to it like her employerâs did. However she didnât feel that was important enough to explain as she could tell the card in her hand was something that perplexed the human even more so.Â
âHe told me to provide you with this and said you may purchase whatever you wish with it. Things for your room, clothes, any hobby materials you may like. He will pay it off himself.â She said, holding her hands in front of her now that they were no longer busy holding things.Â
âIf you ever wish to be driven anywhere, you have free use of the personal driver until your vehicle has been brought over.â
That would make SO MUCH MORE SENSE, honestly. Because right now, it seems as though thereâs fancier rooms somewhere in this house, and Ruby is baffled by that.
The explanation gets the slightest bit of a frown-why does he care? Though...he did make a point to say heâd go with her when she went to get her truck and other things. While equally baffling, that was at least something understandable.
Shaking her head to keep from wondering about it pointlessly, she gives a weak smile. âMight be a good idea to go now, in all honesty. Iâve got what Iâm wearing and my phone, and thatâs it.â Which reminds her...she doesnât actually have his number.
cupcakesanddeathâ:
Sheâs going to end up sassing him even more when she actually sees him all soft and vulnerable, I hope you know. Especially since âformal man in casual wearâ is a major weakness.
âI see. He didnât talk much about his jobâ She comments, moving to follow Linette. Though if it truly keeps him out of the house often, maybe it wonât matter much? And she highly doubts that sheâll ever be involved in it, outside occasionally knocking on his office door to let him know someoneâs here to see him.
âThere is some confidentiality involved due to his business with the government so I can assure you it is not simply just you who he is a tad secretive with. It is only par for the course.â Linette said as they passed by quite a dew doors and hallways to the living quarters part of the estate. âThough Iâm sure with time he may divulge what exactly his role is to you.âÂ
After a few moments she stopped in front of a door and opened it for Ruby to step inside. The room was rather large and nicely furnished, even coming with its own bathroom attached. The general color scheme was a lovely shade of blue with white and gold accents upon the carpets, walls and furniture. It was extravagant to say the least. âApologies for the bland dĂŠcor, Master Incern had informed us that he would not have much time to learn of your interests prior to your arrival. However he did say you can change things how you see fit.â She said before holding out an envelope to the human.

@cupcakesanddeath can hear wedding bells
Liam nervously wrung his hands together as he watched other Angels flying about preparing the large ballroom for the upcoming event. His body was a deep purple and the large feathered wings on his back twitching as his nerves were getting the best of him. He would normally make an attempt to repress said emotions, make the effort to at least appear put together, but this was such a big deal. This was a wedding after all. His wedding. With Raine, the girl he had fallen Halo over Heels for since he had became her friend years before.Â
It had been about a month since they had their talk with each other, about possibly getting married to keep Liam from being enlisted. And now here they were. The day before the big day. His eyes were watching the preparations but his mind? His mind was elsewhere. So many thoughts were running through his head that he didnât even notice as his betrothed made her way to his side until he felt a hand on his lower back, just above where his tail feathers began. It startled him but only for a moment as he glanced at her before quickly averting his eyes.
ââŚ.So tomorrowâs the day.â
Raine had been dragged off to help with more than one things since theyâd arrived earlier, last minute confirmations or substitutions when original plans had gone wrong. It helps her feel less nervous, but also sad-sheâd hoped to spend more time with Liam before tonight, when the âno seeing the bride before the weddingâ rule became enforced. Tomorrow, everything would change-theyâd be married. Married, when sheâd barely even let herself daydream about kissing him before sheâd proposed the whole thing.
Still, they knew things would work out well-theyâd been friends long enough, and when she finally is released from the latest task, she makes her way to his side, her hand on his back to offer some comfort-itâd be clear to her heâs nervous as hell, even without being purple.Â
Some part of her does still have a sliver of worry that this is more because itâs a way to get out of war without his father causing issues, and sheâs the easy answer because of her own role and because theyâre friends. Still, she pushes that down and gives him a faint smile that heâll catch in the brief moment he actually looks at her.
âIt is....you doing ok?â
cupcakesanddeathâ:
Ah yes, because appearances matter so much to the girl who will eventually see you in pjs, with messy hair and looking for breakfast. Totally canât have her thinking youâre a casual, normal person who laughs at things! Why, next she might think you like to joke around!
She doesnât respond before heâs gone, instead turning to Linette. âIâm guessing this is how he usually is, then?â Meaning leaving briskly, and with not much warning.Â
She is quite curious about the fact he left her something-but she tempers that curiosity, mentally reminding herself it could be something she doesnât like-orâŚ.it could be something she does.
He will aggressively postpose that fateful day as long as possible. He has a reputation to uphold after all! An Angel? Of his status?! Being a casual!!! Never.
Linette however seemed confused by this and it was evident on her face. She shook her head, soft green hair swaying lightly. âOh heavens, no. Master Incern is usually prefers to stay here as long as possible. He tends to only this way when his job requires his urgent attention.â She explained before gesturing her to follow. They could walk and talk after all.
âIf we are lucky, he will be back soon. Though it is really a gamble for how long his colleagues need him.â
Sheâs going to end up sassing him even more when she actually sees him all soft and vulnerable, I hope you know. Especially since âformal man in casual wearâ is a major weakness.

She sees little point in talking right now-sheâs not very happy, and has nothing âusefulâ to contribute to things.
He doesnât seem like heâs in a hurry to break the silence either, letting her just keep to herself until theyâreâŚ.at an overly large house. So much for the shred of hope that sheâd finally be able to live someplace smaller, less empty feeling. But maybe the staff would help with that, when the size doesnât.
She doesnât speak as she follows him inside, though she does raise an eyebrow at his comment-she can do what she wants? She doubts that-thereâd be a limitation on almost everything she thinks of.Â
Leaving? Not possible. Knitting? No supplies. Sitting in a closet to let the angry mask sheâs been holding as close as possible to let out the vulnerable, scared, needs-to-cry feelings out? Sheâs not about to let anyone potentially see that.
Maybe a cry in the shower would work, but sheâs got no other clothes to wear-she wasnât allowed to bring any, ButâŚ.maybe she could at least slip off the shoes and tights, and explore.
âA brat, huh?â
He let out a soft snort at the response in amusement. Every time someone questioned the nature of Seraphina, it made him chuckle but he wanted to keep up appearances for now.Â
âYes. Donât be afraid to tell someone if sheâs being annoying.â He said before he checked the watch on his wrist. Shit, he was late. âI really must go, I will be back soon. Apologies.â He said as he slowly walked backwards before turning on the ball of his foot and speed walking away, the flared ends of his jacket flowed behind him.Â
Linette took that moment to bow lightly and speak to get Rubyâs attention and smiled softly at her. âHello Miss, I can show you to your room and what Master Incern has left for you.~â Her voice was soft and sweet, and she didnât seem at all perturbed about the rather sudden exit her employer had made.Â
Ah yes, because appearances matter so much to the girl who will eventually see you in pjs, with messy hair and looking for breakfast. Totally canât have her thinking youâre a casual, normal person who laughs at things! Why, next she might think you like to joke around!

A fair point, though one she doesnât verbally react to, shifting her attention back to the window-not on him. Sheâs tried to meet people a few times, butâŚit tends to not work out very well. She pushes the thought aside, not letting it start bothering her again.
She does nearly scoff when he speaks again, the softened tone of his voice honestly a bit annoying-was he really going to pretend he hadnât gotten all âangry athorityâ on her? She doesnât like how quickly he switches as if nothing happened.
So, she stays silent. No answer is still sort of an answer-right?
Silence? Her choice. There was not much he could do about that. The Angel kept his silence until they made it back to his manor and the driver opened the doors for the two to exit. It was a rather large home for a guy that primarily lived alone. As they entered into his home there was a Maid standing nearby greeting them with a smile. As soon as they were in the lobby, Liam turned towards Ruby and finally broke the silence the two seemed to agree on keeping up moments prior.
âYour room should be ready for you, feel free to do what you want. I need to check up on something so if you need anything, just ask Linette.â He said gesturing to a maid with pale green hair standing nearby. âAnd if you see my bird, I apologize in advance if she bothers you. She can be a bit of a brat at times.â

She narrows her eyes, not liking what she perceives as a threat-sheâs not some helpless weakling, unable to defend herself. Itâs very clear sheâs not satisfied with this answer, but she knows better than to argue.
The only rules sheâs âpicked apartâ are the ones that seem stupidly obvious-not going in his study-or the bizzare-this âno talking to visitorsâ one. That, to her, insures heâs the only one she talks to at home-and she doesnât trust it.
The others sheâs asked for clarification, yes-but thatâs not the same.
âFine. I donât exactly have a choice now do I?â
âNot really. But again I merely said if anyone asks for me, to immediately get me. Itâs not as if I am stopping you from going out and talking to others or to not talk to someone I introduce you to. I believe that in itself is reasonable.â He said as he broke eye contact, instead looking forward.Â
âWeâre almost there, are there any more questions you wish to ask, go ahead and ask now.â His tone had significantly softened now, as if earlier he didnât get rather snippy with her.Â
A fair point, though one she doesn't verbally react to, shifting her attention back to the window-not on him. She's tried to meet people a few times, but...it tends to not work out very well. She pushes the thought aside, not letting it start bothering her again.

âDear if I worried about that, I would have said it. However the people I associate with are not all welcoming of certain people. And Iâd rather they not mess with you when I know they can hurt you.â His tone became serious, like he was in a position of authority that she shouldnât dare question.Â
For a girl who wanted know what rules to follow she seemed to clearly enjoy picking them apart like they were nothing.  âOver time I could introduce you to guests that are okay to converse with if they come by but for now that is what I asked for, understood?â
