When I got this lipstick in a âSephora Favoritesâ kit (Give Me Some More Lip â a 2017 holiday set), I was very surprised. Of all the brands in the kit, Wander was the only one Iâd heard absolutely nothing about. I started this test prepared to be wearing another unremarkable lipstick and SPOILER ALERT I was fucking blown away.
When Iâm wearing lipstick, specifically to work, I donât want to have to worry about it. I want to be able to slap it on in the morning, drink coffee, eat lunch, and jabber away all day and still have some sort of color on my lips ten hours later. Some days I donât mind a good olâ fashioned high-maintenance lipstick, but the ones I find myself going back to time and time again are the low-maintenance ones that look fabulous and stay fabulous throughout the day. Wanderâs Wanderout lipstick is absolutely one of those products.

On Wanderâs website, this dual-ended lipstick is described as:
A dual-ended lipstick with the two shades you need: a neutral for day and a fun pop of color for a night out. Enriched with 8 lip loving oils and ingredients from all over the world to deliver intense hydration while providing long-lasting vibrant color. Marula oil (South Africa), castor seed oil (Japan), cocoa seed butter (Netherlands), jojoba oil (Argentina), mango seed butter (India), and sunflower oil (France) to deeply to soothe and moisturize lips. A blend of antioxidants, vitamins E (Switzerland) and C (Germany) protect against free radical attack and promotes cell regeneration.
These lipsticks have a boatload of pigment and an almost matte finish. There is transfer as you wear the lipstick down but once the excess lipstick has worn off, youâre left with a beautiful matte lip. They may be enriched with a bunch of oils and vitamins, but I did feel the need to slap on some chapstick by 11. This is normal for me and my chronically dry lips, and if a lipstick can make it through a layer of chapstick without budging, I know itâs gonna be a good one. Wanderout didnât freakin budge.Â

Letâs take a minute to check out the packaging. These two lipsticks come in a beautiful burgundy metal tube and the whole piece feels substantial. You get 0.14oz total between the two lipsticks and the adorable little bullets fit right into the center tube as shown in the photos below.

How slick is that? The whole shebang is about 3.5/4âł long, about the size of your average liquid lipstick tube.
Want proof of the crazy wear time? Hereâs a super low res pic (Iâm so sorry) of how this lipstick looked at 7pm, almost eleven hours after applying. I didnât touch up the color at all, but I did apply chapstick several times throughout the day.

Wander Beautyâs Wanderout lipstick is absolutely a lipstick I would wear on a long day out. If you want a long-lasting lipstick to wear to work or if you just donât want to bother touching up your lipstick throughout the day, this is a fantastic option. This would also be a fabulous lipstick to travel with â itâs compact and having two shades in one package would cut down on things to pack. I did need to put on chapstick after a few hours so itâs not incredibly moisturizing, but it was comfortable to wear and not dry in any sense of the word.
If you wear this lipstick every day, I could see the small size of the bullets being frustrating â theyâre about the size of tester lipsticks so they would run out faster than a regular size bullet. It doesnât appear that these lipsticks are sold separately so if one of these colors happens to be your holy grail, youâd essentially be spending $30 for a tester size lipstick. To be honest, as good as these lipsticks are, I donât think theyâre worth the price. Iâm probably not going to purchase any other shades but Iâll wear this one into the ground and itâs going to be a no-brainer to pack when Iâm heading out for a trip.

[Another note: When Iâm talking about putting chapstick on top of my lipstick, itâs after the excess has worn away and the lipstick has kind of melted into my lips. This is my usual solution for matte, long-wear lipsticks â when my lips get dry with liquid lipsticks, I like to add a lip gloss on top to rehydrate.]
