Repost of my favourite depressed pink thing Dani Ambrosia <3
roald dahl was antisemitic and misogynistic. george orwell was openly homophobic. edgar allan poe married his 13 year old cousin. dr seuss cheated on his wife (and was racist as well as antisemitic!). hp lovecraft was racist as fuck. anyways they’re fucking dead it’s not like you’re enabling their behaviors in the afterlife or something. then again I think they bleed into the books so uh keep an eye out for that
the difference between these old white guys and jk rowling is that the former group is all dead. jk rowling is alive and using your money to oppress trans people
Audio roleplay fans! I have a question for you! I'm making a video essay about the artistic evolution of audio roleplay. I'm interviewing a few creators, but I'm interested in the opinion of listeners.
The question is: What does audio roleplay offer you, that other fictional mediums like movies, books, and videogames don't?
Answer in a reblog, OR record a brief (under two minute) answer in audio form and send it to [email protected]. If you send a recorded answer it might be featured in the video essay!
with movies and books and stuff, for me, the endings feel more concrete. they usually show you every part of the story with, imo, very little room for interpretation or imagination.
with audio rp, especially episodic series, they don’t show you everything that has/could happen. it leaves room for the listener or viewer to imagine things like mundane life and things the creator can’t show because of time, the algorithm, or restrictions.
The instinct when seeing some shit to say "who the hell put this on my dash" and then scrolling up to see beloved mutual's name and icon. And looking the other way peacefully.

i HATTTTTTTTE daylight savings
something that was implemented OVER A CENTURY AGO during a WAR to help conserve fuel and power. which, yeah we should do, protect the planet, but WE DONT NEED TO MOVE AN HOUR FORWARD FOR THAT
it’s been proven that it disrupts sleep cycles, harms mental and physical health, and messes with your immune system.
i’m moving to arizona bro this shit is ass/srs

BADABOOM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BADABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM anyway, what was Badaboom like as a kid? Bing too! not like im making a childhood au or anything like that.....
He got a lot of hand me down toys that he'd often break with his rough play, so he had more fuck digging around and playing with rocks, sticks, defunct machines, and other free things that he could break without getting into trouble.
He was a very big boy, to the point that he was defending his older brother from bullies when he was seven and his brother was nine. He took a martial arts class as a kid but only did it so that he could punch and kick wooden boards, and quit once he had his fill of punching wood in half.
His parents let him mess around in the kitchen from a young age. He started cooking when his parents denied him an easy bake oven because it was a "girl toy" and a "waste of money" because he was tall enough to reach a real oven anyway. He just played with the real oven and made real (bad) food as a child until he learned to make good food.
His distractibility by small, mundane things made him an awful student. His general disinterest in abstract academic topics (or frankly anything he couldn't physically get his hands on) made it worse.
Bing was rambunctious and argumentative as a child, picking fights with other kids, teachers, and authority figures. Despite his promising academic ability in childhood, he didn't get far in college as a young adult, mostly due to his habit of making his professors disfavor him with his caustic personality. Bing hates being told what to do more than anything. Ever since he was a child, he'd respond to just about any order with pushback, unless he's in a high stakes situation where he has no choice but to put his faith in someone else's judgement.
Bing learned Italian as a child, and can understand it well but refuses to speak it out of embarrassment for his bad pronunciation. As a kid he loved dressing up in businesswear and vintage attire. He wanted badly to be seen as an adult and be taken seriously by adults.
