Looking into colour schemes. Looking at blues and greens - seeing how colour affects the way we feel and the mood of a particular piece.

Looking into interiors. (Thunder blotch - timorous beasties)

After looking at other textile art, I was inspired to stitch over my friends face. I asked her permission, if she wanted to be anonymous or not and it wasn't a problem, I enjoyed this as it looked powerful. I was going to use it as part of my final piece, however as you can see it didnt work as well and the stitch was just falling straight through which was disappointing. I decided not to include this in the end. In some of the images I've also burnt felt with a soldering iron.

Trapping wool by laminating it in the heat press, creates a smooth surface - I like the pieces of wool and thread that’s left hanging, representing the isolation of someone who's suffering with mental health.

Trying out various colour ways. These sample pieces weren't left long enough in the heat press, that's why they aren't dark and a pastel colour.

Images of latex pieces being done trapping the thread between the layers. I left each latex piece over night to make sure the thread was fully trapped.

Latex piece using bubble wrap as the surface to create a textured piece where light is able to come through. The circular pattern that has been created reminds me of pills from anti depressants.

Inspo board in college… Only two weeks left!!

This piece was my fourth attempt of using latex, and it’s my favourite out of all of them. I love the smooth and textured sides contrasting with each other and the entrapment of cottons and wool.

Heat manipulation: in the oven for two minutes with the marbles tied with cotton to gain the circular shape. Once heated the organza fabric changes it’s form.
