High school can be stressful at times but here are some tips for you and others who may be going through the same thing:

1. Most importantly, don’t forget to take care of yourself. I know you’re going to be stressing over your grades and everything, but you should still be focusing on your needs. Remember to get an appropriate amount of sleep each night, drink water, and eat!!

2. Stay on top of your school work. Though procrastinating is extremely tempting, don’t do it. Once you start falling behind in school work it’s going to be difficult to catch back up. So do yourself a favor and do your work on time, because you’re going to have to end up doing it sooner or later anyways.

3. If you need it, get extra help! This may not apply to you, but I have a lot of experience with this topic. So let me start by saying I am very bad at math. And instead of going to after school classes to get help from my teacher, I thought that I could figure things out on my own. And with that mindset, I almost failed the class because I never fully understood what I was learning, and the new lessons were just getting more and more difficult. So don’t be like me, get some help if you need it, man.

4. Get involved! If you have the time to, join a club/sport/group of sorts. These are good ways to make friends outside of your grade/social group, plus it can be a lot of fun. I’ve been in GSA, outdoor track, and stage crew for our musicals/plays. It may not seem like much but it’s really a great way to have fun while keeping you busy. If your school has any groups that may interest you, join them! You’ll have a blast and meet a lot of people with the same interests as you.
