In 2012... I was a coon, and I wasn't aware of it. I made this comic about how people take cosplaying so seriously. One panel was one person telling a white Sazh cosplayer that "Sazh isn't white." and one person telling a Sailor Mars cosplayer who was short that "Sailor Mars is suppose to be tall." And then...I drew this bull-shitty panel in the comic. For those of you who are confused it is a cosplayer putting foundation on her skin so she can look *EXACTLY* like her favorite character Korra. And the person is telling her how wrong she is of doing it. It took me a few years to realize that this is not how cosplay work. Changing your skin tone of an actual race (alien race is okay unless they actually exist, but they do exist according to Reuben Langdon xD) is NOOOO GOOD. People will KNOW who you are by the costume you are wearing. They will! But don't change your skin with foundation. It is not right and it hurts people's feelings. Even though you're not trying to make fun of the race still do NOT change your skin tone. It's not necessary. And if someone judges you telling you you're white and cosplaying Barret Wallace FUCK👏THEM👏 In 2012 I *was* a coon... and I am NOT becoming one ever again.
