I hate when older people use the umbrella term âoh thatâs how teenagers areâ.
No.
Not all teenagers are depressed. Not all teenagers get bullied. Not all teenagers are âgoing through a phaseâ. Not all teenagers are âlazy and unintelligentâ. Not all teenagers are embarrassed by their parents 'because theyâre teenagersâ.
Some teenagers are depressed. Some teenagers are bullied. Some teenagers are actually lgbt*q+. Some teenagers are so tired because of all the stress of balancing school, family, friends, jobs, and more that they are perceived as 'lazyâ. Some teenagers are embarrassed by their parents because their parents make them feel so insignificant and unwanted that they donât want anyone else to see what their parents do.
But we are not a umbrella term. We are not going to be put in a category thatâs making so many feel terrible and that is erasing problems at hand.
We are teenagers. But we are not a generalization.
