It is always really fun for me to dissect what characters we were drawn to during the most Formative years of our lives individually, because it almost always explains why each of our personalities are Like That
Okay, I'm on my lunch break, I can expound more on this now
Re: the previous tags, I do think the concept of introjection as a whole is fascinating, because really *all* people experience that regardless of plurality
I like to think that personalities are often formed as a mixture of inherent nature and the people that individual respected/looked up to/relied on (I'm taking the fun middle ground between the nature v. nurture argument lol). Alters/Headmates are people as well- they, too, have likely pulled their personality from a mix of other people they were around. I honestly do believe this applies to fictional characters that person interacted with too- those are people that individuals look up to/rely on/respect, no? If a person relies on certain characters for strength, I do think it's safe to presume that character has had an effect on them, and some of that person's values/goals/personality traits were pulled from that, even if that character is fictional. And this isn't a negative; this is just human nature
With plurality specifically, you just have several individuals who formed differently depending on circumstances and differences in preference for characters. For example, Yellow tends to flock to emotionally closed-off positive characters, I tend to flock to martyr characters, etc, and I believe that preference in our formative years highly effects how we act now.
All of this is to say- yeah, I think it's interesting to pick apart who was important to you in your formative years, as its both informative and honestly kind of fun to go Hey!! I know what you are!! to your headmates, LMAO
...Additionally, I do think this is why the concept of fictives was not a big surprise to me, really. When a split happens, that specific fragment is *new*, or at the very least very *malleable*. Their most formative moments are obviously going to be at conception- so finding a person/character to latch onto, especially if they relate heavily to that person, is not abnormal. Whether that be that they relate heavily to the character, adopted their personality and values, or just *are* that character, it's all very valid and, again, not entirely abnormal really.
