Introducing the boyfriend.

Boruto has fought aliens, Boruto has fought death, Boruto has fought his own brother trying to kill him, Boruto has fought godly strong men and God itself.... But he can't help but fear introducing his boyfriend.

Well, it's not like his family didn't already know Shinki. His father knew Shinki as Gaara's son, His mother and sister knew Shinki as his opponent during the chunin exams, His brother knew Shinki as the guy from sand who turned into a shinju once.

Boruto glanced at Shinki. He was wearing a pretty decent, very hot, suit which screamed 'I am from the sand village'. It was his usual outfit, only with a few modifications. Boruto was honestly impressed by the work he is doing, trying to gain everyone approval. Shinki brought a kunai kit for Himawari special once that had the sunflower aesthetic, he made food for his mother, recited stuff he would need to tell his dad. It was Boruto who was nervous for no reason.

Shinki suddenly squeezed Boruto's hand and boruto just chuckled under his breath before opening the door. "I am home and he is here with me." Obviously the household knew that Boruto was bringing his boyfriend over and that the boyfriend was Shinki.

Hinata greeted him with a open smile before giving one to Shinki too. Himawari followed after her but had a smaller smile on her face, which only made him even more nervous. Shinki entered the house, giving the home-made food to hinata and passing the kit to Himawari.

"Oh Shinki, you didn't have too" Hinata chuckled at the thoughtfulness. Boruto felt lighter at that as hinata let the duo into the main room. His father and brother sitting in already. Probably post sparing, kawaki was starting to take actual training seriously. Himawari was sticking close to Boruto. Boruto glanced at Shinki, he greeted them with respect. Boruto glanced at his mother nodding with approval. Boruto smiled easing up himself.

"Shinki! Good to see you!" Naruto greeted with his signature grin, before adding "how is Gaara doing, retirement must be sweet huh?" Boruto chuckled at that, not minding kawaki ditching the conversation to go sit besides the dinning table.

"As sweet as worrying about me can do. He still attends most of the meetings with me" Shinki explained. Gaara had stepped down as the kazekage some months ago, letting shinki take over. His Father has also resigned as Hokage around the same time, being newly freed from the deikomon dimension, letting Konohamaru become the Hokage at least until Sarada can step in.

Him becoming Kazekage was also the reason why he came here tonight. Boruto nervously played with the ring on his finger. Hoping everything will go smoothly.

"Sounds like Gaara to me, I don't bother going to meeting with Konohamaru. He already has shikamaru breathing down his neck about right or wrong" Naruto laughed, giving Boruto a knowing look. Boruto just smiled back, maybe... Thinks would go well.

The dinner was going relatively well. After a few moments Shinki cleared his throat, the signal Boruto knew was coming. Shinki took his hand, which held the ring. "Lord 7th.. Me and Boruto have made the decision to get married. Can you please give his hand to me for marriage?" Naruto glanced back at shinki in shock before looking at hinata who didn't looking surprise, she knew about this happening beforehand.

"I.. Shinki, you are the kazekage. Boruto is in konoha. Not saying no... I just" Naruto glanced at Boruto as Boruto started to speak.

"I will be moving to sand village after my mariage"

Everyone froze as himawari got up and just left. Hinata made a move to get up but shinki got up instead. "I feel like she has a problem with me so I think I should assure her that I have no ill intentions" Shinki explained before leaving to comfort the girl.

"Do you have a thing for plain spoken people?" Boruto glared at Kawaki. Who shrugged, looking at his food and eating. Boruto gave a tired look to Hinata before Naruto awkwardly coughed.

"He has my blessings."

Himawari frowned as she sat down on her bed ready to leave to train or divert her mind, probably go and spar with Sumire or team 10. That was until she heard a knock on the door, she grumbled thinking it was her mother and shouted "come in mom"

"I am not your mother.." Himawari froze as she turned to see Shinki, who did enter her room, politely standing at the doorway. "..hello, can I speak to you?" Himawari stared at him.

"What is there to say?" She asked, lightly glaring at him. Shinki nodded before continuing "I fear you don't want me to marry Your brother? If so, I promise you.. I have no ill intentions towards him and if you fear Ryuu would come out and attack him then fear not, I am completely sane-"

"That's not the point. What I think doesn't matter anyways. It never did.." Himawari frowned before looking away and sighing "sorry, you have my blessings. It not you, it's what I am feeling Lord Kazekage"

"Shinki. You can just call me Shinki" he spoke lightly before looking at her room which was bright yellow "still whatever you are feeling is due to me in some capacity so I would like to understand....what you think does matter to me and boruto too."

"You.. I just got him back" Himawari whispered and Shinki blinked. "I didn't get a say for three years. Kawaki-nii took our parents away and Boruto-nii went away just hoping that I would stay safe in konoha... Their squabble cost me three years of isolation.. I just got them all back, my parents and my brothers and now... One of them is leaving again" Shinki nodded slowly.

"So this is about Boruto leaving Konoha and moving in with me.."

"Yeah.. childish I know. But I don't want to be away from him." Himawari felt Shinki pat her head before looking up at him and questioning how fast he walks. He spoke sincerely. "I understand this is a huge change again... But Boruto is always going to be tied to Konoha and I too will never stop him from coming here to meet you guys.. My father says marriage connects two families together.."

"When my Aunt married and came to Konoha, she merged our family to the Nara's.. Shikadai is my cousin... What I mean is. We will be family soon. Please do not think of me marrying him as me taking away your brother again... Think of it as a new chapter" Shinki spoke genuinely. Himawari thought about it before giving a watery smile.

"I will still miss him though"

Boruto looked at Shinki in astonishment as Himawari chatted with everyone with a smile, she came down declaring that she was okay with the marriage but she wanted to be Maid of Honor first and foremost. Boruto quickly agreed as the family chatted about the marriage, minus Kawaki.

"What did you tell her?" Boruto whispered to shinki who just gave a eye raise before leaning in. A motion that pretty much sent butterflies down his stomach.

"I told her I love you as much as she does" Boruto blinked feeling his face redden. He backed away shyly. For someone so Stoic, Shinki spoke like someone straight out of a romance novel.

"It's like seeing Hinata all over again" Naruto comment immediately being lightly hit by Hinata. Who now also looked embarrassed. Himawari chimmed in asking whether their mother was also like this. Boruto remebered briefly time travelling to the past and watching his mother go red and blushy whenever their father was involved. He acted like that?? "Oh Hinata was always red alright" his father started "back then, I didn't know anything about crushes so I just thought that's how she was but then one day I realised it and well..." Naruto took hinata's "well she still blushes the same"

"Naruto, don't say such things in front of the kids"

"All this is making me feel single" Himawari playfully complained. "Doesn't it kawaki-ni" she glanced at the man, who shrugged in return. Looking at the couples.

"Romance is overrated" Kawaki mumbled. Boruto rolled his eyes before stating.

"I don't care, you are going to be one of my groomsmen and that's final"

Naruto stared at the cake cutting as almost everyone came. Even Sasuke showed his face, congratulating Boruto besides Sakura and Sarada. Orachimaru brought in alive snake as present which to everyone horror Boruto loved dearly. Naruto looked at Himawari who was busy being the maid of Honor and conducting the afterparty. She had grown alot throughout the years and he felt a bit bad missing the prime three years but he wouldn't miss her adult years. Hinata was busy conversing with Ino and Tenten and Kawaki was outside the hall somewhere, which was probably the best option because many people in the wedding didn't think highly of him post-omnipotence.

"It's weird thinking that we are now family.." a voice came up, Naruto turned to see Shikamaru who gave a smile. Beside him was Gaara who looked at ease. Probably because his son was smiling brightly today.

"I already thought of you two as one so nothing different for me" Naruto' grinned before looking at The couple again, Shinki was now with his teammate who looked happy for him, they had a bittersweet atmosphere between them. Probably talking about their fallen teammate who couldn't make it to the wedding. Boruto on the other hand was now talking to Mitsuki and Shikadai with a lovesick grin on his face that again reminded him of hinata. "To think, these two would come together..."

"I always knew Shinki favoured the same gender and the day he met Boruto, he instantly drew towards him... So I was always aware. Boruto reciprocating the same feelings was a pleasant surprise" Gaara chimed in. Shikamaru chuckled under his breath before saying "yeah to you, I think Boruto has a crush on him after a few missions together, after the second chunin exams he told Shikadai about feelings... And then when Shinki became a Clawgrime, Boruto's actions are actually what determined a lot about who he actually was to me..."

Naruto nodded along, how they got together and their story was still a mystery to Naruto. Mostly because he was trapped but he didn't need to see their journey to look at the outcome. Naruto glanced at Shinki again who was greeting Mitsuki and Shikadai. He turned to look around and Boruto was nowhere to be seen. Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"Ah... Looks like all brothers cry when they are giving a sibling away huh?" Gaara stated lightly getting Naruto's attention. Shikamaru snorted as he pointed Naruto towards the balcony where Kawaki and Boruto were hugging. "Reminds me of Temari's wedding, I suddenly got emotional and hugged her"

"I remember, for ten seconds I thought you would object against our marriage or tell me to move in sand instead" Shikamaru chuckled looking back at the memories fondly. Naruto just stared at his son's, who were having a moment.

"You already said that bro..." Boruto whispered back as he patted Kawaki's back. "Like after our Battle, after the omnipotence, after everything... We are good. Why are you bringing it up now--"

"That's not why I am sorry" Kawaki sighed. "I thought Himawari was being too much about you getting married and moving away but... I guess it didn't hit me until I saw you in your wedding suit.. I am sorry that I can't feel happy about this"

"About me getting married and moving away?" Boruto felt confused. It was one thing having Himawari not wanting him to go afar but Kawaki and his relationship has always been of a distant brotherhood. "I am confused.."

"So am I... I just.. you aren't twelve anymore.. you are as tall as me... It all hit me suddenly and" Kawaki backed away and looked at the scenery "I didn't expect both of us to live this far... "But I want you here" Boruto said surely. Kawaki chuckled slowly.

"I know... Some part of me wants to redo everything. Go back in time and undo my mistakes and actually stand here and feel happy for you... instead of feeling bitter at.. whatever I am feeling" Kawaki froze as four hands hugged him. Boruto's head was on his shoulder and Himawari came out of nowhere and hugged both of them.

Boruto stared at him before staring at the door then back at him before reading over the file. "Hm? Something..." Before he could ask the blond what he was thinking. You walking around, slowly and clumsily around your nursery room" jennette's eyes widened at the information. He smiled still looking at the rain.

"I remember grinning, and awfully feeling proud. Such a weird feeling. I have never in my life tried to remember Penelope, but at that moment I remember asking myself, what would Penelope think of her daughter walking?" Anastasius said, eyes having this weird weight on them. As if the man in front of her was starting to catch on to his age.

"Then years went by and I finally met you. Talked to you and all in all spend days and nights with you..." Anastasius said, jennette closed her eyes recalling their times spend together.

"I realized something...I wanted to be a part of your life for a long time. I wanted to be your father" he confessed as the rain started to pour more. Jennette opened her eyes looking at her father in shook. Anastasius was now looking at her.

"I wanted to be your father, I was just to stubborn and a man that didnt deserve you" Anasticious said. Eyes sincere "I am sorry, my daughter. For I failed to be your father so much that you had to beg for us to even have a chance to be together"

The rain stopped so did their vehicle, they had reached their new home.

"I promise you this now. I will be the best father you can imagine" he stated. Jennette blinked again, tears pouring down as she hugged him.

"why did he want to protect this city? Why are we doing it?" Damian asked.

That he came late to, where he met shinki and they decided to go on for a walk to catch up. Also Boruto wanted to explain why he was late to such an important event.

It was once they reached a flower field is when shinki compared him to a flower with the most uninterested tone ever.

"Was that an insult?" Boruto whined with a pout. Was shinki really calling him weak right now? Shinki raised an eyebrow in confusion, which desolved Boruto's pouting.

"No.. I said you look like a flower. It was a statement" Shinki replied, staring at the sun that was promptly behind boruto. Setting into the river water. Boruto stared at his face, like a flower? Which one?

"Your acting weird ya know?" Boruto chuckled in a usual manner. He remained himself not take to much time, because he was supposed to still go against mituski later on. The match that would have determined who would have been chunin.

"Am I?" Shinki walked closer, staring at him. Boruto felt something warm burn inside him. The way the boy in front of him stared wasn't cold but one with interest and high repects.

"Yes you are... What does that even mean?" Boruto asked, blushing a little but not as much as his mother did back in the days. The next words out of shinki's mouth halted his thinking.

"...oh" Of course shinki would know.. He is a kages son. Boruto then felt the said boy kiss his palm. Boruto did not squeal like a small girl. Before he could say anything else shinki muttered "You can leave for your battle now.. I hope we stay in touch"

Shinki let go of his hand much to boruto's disappointment. Before backing away to leave.

"Shinki wait" Now Boruto held shinki's hand ".. Thank you for seeing me that way" He explained staring right into his eyes. Shinki frowned as he said "That's--" But was immediately cut off by Boruto.

"You spoke now let me speak, I am not rejecting you...i just" Boruto bit his tongue not being able to explain. Looking away a little. Curse him and his sudden love cowardness!

"I know.. I hope one day I could go for the lips" Shinki assured when he realized Boruto wasn't going to continue. He let got of Boruto's hand before he bid him a farewell "give mitsuki a good fight"

Chocolate, Horror and confessions.

There were few things akutagawa truly hated. Things like smoke, himself and people who left the book open on the desk inside a library. But something he hated the most was talking on the phone. It filled him with the not needed dread of socializing.

Don't get him wrong, if it's for work purposes with things he had already scripted in his mind to say then akutagawa is a pro in talking on the phone, but if it's chatting for the sake of talking then texting was what he liked to do. Everyone knew that, nakahara-san, his sister gin and even his boss mori-san.

He had hoped his work partner would realize this but from what akutagawa could gather, the weretiger obviously didn't get the memo. Always calling akutagawa up instead of texting. It has been a while since his.. Death, their victory..and His revival and everything was finally going back to normalcy well except the fact that the weretiger now knew where he lived, has his phone number, knew akutagawa on a personal level and most importantly... The fact that they don't dislike each other to that level anymore. Again don't get akutagawa wrong. He still doesn't like the weretiger but he won't kill him.

Actually that's what he did after their 6 month battle, that ended in a draw. A very awkward emotional draw. All that was not the point. The main problem was at the moment, atsushi and his constant need to call akutagawa even if the information passed could be easily passed by texting.

"Soooo... What are we going to do? I mean we can watch a movie?" Atsushi awkwardly insisted. It was one of their unusual post-mission time together, it has started after their battle. When both the party called in a permanent truce. At first akutagawa was irritated that the weretiger wanted to do mundane things after the mission, useless things that wasted his time. But after the third unusual post-mission time. He just didn't question it.

"Of course, what do you want to watch?" Akutagawa played along again before he can ask the question in his mind. Atsushi thought about it.

"What about horror?" Akutagawa blinked. Horror? That's a genre, he wasn't expecting atsushi to choose. The boy was sunshine and rainbows personified on the outside tragic comedy on the inside. Horror was more so his abilities thing. Akutagawa hoped beast beneath the moonlight wasn't the one choosing the movie.

"Sure" Akutagawa replied before adding "do you want something to eat and drink Perhaps?" It was always evident when the weretiger of his was hungry. Atsushi nodded, pointing at the coco packets with a smile that said 'you know what I want'. akutagawa rolled his eyes, he almost regrets making atsushi hot chocolate in one of his earlier stays. The tiger wouldn't stop asking for more after that. "Fine, hot chocolate it is"

"Yes!" Atsushi practically jumped into the couch, getting ready for the horror movie night. Tsk, what type of animal was akutagawa harbouring inside his house? Akutagawa shaked his head before walking towards the kitchen and making a what atsushi desires, if you had come to akutagawa before he had joined the battle against fukuchi and told him that one day he would be making food and watching movies with the weretiger. Akutagawa would have stabbed the person... But things have changed, they have changed, this... Relationship has changed.

Akutagawa could feel eyes on him as he added extra chocolate in atsushi's cup. Knowing the boy had sweet tooth well that's something both of them had in common. Suger was like luxury for them. Akutagawa blow some air onto his own mug that was very hot for him. Before putting the two mugs on a trey and giving it to atsushi, who had already chosen a movie for them to watch. It was a romantic-horror.

"Fancy" Atsushi stated taking his mug from the trey. Akutagawa gave a unimpressed stare "only you can call something as a trey fancy, weretiger"

Atsushi pouted but didn't argue back. Drinking his hot chocolate with a small smile, switching on the movie. The intro begun, introducing all the characters. Two boys raising a little girl, living together. Akutagawa was reminded of kyoka with how innocent the girls opening lines were.

"This was the movie ranpo-san recommend to me, the one I told you about on the phone" Atsushi explained, akutagawa blinked. Oh right the phone. How could he forget?

"Noted. Speaking of the phone... Why do you always call instead of texting?" Akutagawa asked putting his mug on the table as the movie introduced the lore behind some type of enrich creatures. The monster of the story. "Half the things you say can be typed out you know?"

Atsushi slurped his drink "why not?" Akutagawa frowned at the question before answering "because I don't like it"

"You don't like talking to me?" Atsushi sounded almost sad. Akutagawa lightly shook his head, the movie showed how the boys were childhood friends and one of them lost his parents, become the legal guardian of his sister. Giving a vague idea, that the parents were killed by.... Something.

"No, I don't like talking on the phone with anyone" Akutagawa explained "it's a waste of time" He added as the movie gave a surprise jump scare, akutagawa did not shreak or at least if he did, he hopped atsushi who seemed unaffected by the jump scare didn't notice.

"Okay then... I will just start texting" Atsushi took the last sips of his drink as they fell into an unexpected silence. The movie was alright at the most, the only thing good about it was the family dynamic between the boys and the sister. It was evident that the boys had a crush on each other.

"I.. Like your voice tho" Atsushi said catching akutagawa off guard, totally crushing his guard down enough so That---another jumpscare.

"ShiT-" akutagawa physically jumped up, atsushi putting his arms around akutagawa this time. Akutagawa blinked. He just got spooked by a shitty horror movie. Atsushi chuckled a little as akutagawa glared at him. "That was YOUR fault!"

"My fault? How so?" Atsushi was still chuckling before looking at akutagawa with humor in his eyes. Akutagawa glared harder, feeling something warm inside. How can someone like his raspy voice?

"You said you like my voice, it made my guard drop!" Akutagawa confessed. Atsushi raised an eyebrow "so? I was saying what I meant. I like hearing your voice, that's why I always call you. I like hearing you, I lik--" Akutagawa suddenly put his hand on top of atsushi's mouth.

"Shut up"

Akutagawa decided that the weretiger was mad, akutagawa was NOT blushing or flustered. If the weretiger said so, he was misinterpreting his facial expressions.

"I was about to say hot chocolate, lawnmower" Atsushi mumbled under the palm. Akutagawa looked away.

"You like my raspy voice weretiger?" Akutagawa asked unimpressed. "You must be bad of hearing, why would you like my voice of all things?"

"It's not only that, it's also hot chocolate" Atsushi defending, mouth still under his palm, voice still muffled but audible to akutagawa. Akutagawa took a deep breath. Heart beating to fast for his liking. He just recovered from a disease, he doesn't want heart problem's now.

"Well even my sister loves my hot chocolate, so you aren't special in that category weretiger" Akutagawa explained removing his palm. Before looking at the reveal of the boys being in love with each other. Akutagawa couldn't even pay attention properly.

"Why would you like my voice?" He finally asked, as the movie continued to show the boys hunting down the creature and saving the girl.

"Because I like you"

Akutagawa head sharply turned towards atsushi. What? Why would--how did--did akutagawa-- so many questions that akutagawa seemed to already know the answer to. "Why would you fall for me?"

Atsushi stared at akutagawa, Mismatched eyes never looked so uneven before. "I ask myself that everyday. Maybe it's because you died for me, maybe because you are pretty, maybe it's because you are my equal, maybe it's because you have changed so much it makes me proud, maybe it's because you saved me so many times, maybe it's because I gave a vow to myself to protect you after I got you back, maybe it's because we are spending so much time together in which I properly know you now... Honestly I don't know. I just know that I do"

Akutagawa took a shaky breath in. Does he love the weretiger?, he doesn't know. They have spend enough time for akutagawa to know which brand of chocolate atsushi likes, what type of movies he usually watches, after he came back atsushi was the one he felt the most safe with, he did save atsushi against his own mind because his heart suddenly bled out to save someone other then gin, he has changed alot with how proudly nakahara-san boasted about him, they truly are equal.. Each other's equal. Did akutagawa love him back?

The movies epilogue took place but neither of them paid attention. Akutagawa's left out chocolate was cold now, but he still paid no attention to drink it. "How did you know, you like me?" He asked out.

Atsushi shrugged "I just feel happy when I am with you, comfortable and I just want you" It sounded very sentimental. This was probably akutagawa's own horror movie. Romantic-horror. The end credits of the movie started to play. Did atsushi recited this? Was he planning on confessing soon? Did akutagawa like him back?

Akutagawa also feels comfortable with atsushi, enough to have once talked about the slums. Akutagawa also feels happy with atsushi when the said boy is giving comfort or is just simply acting like an idiot... Did akutagawa want atsushi? How can someone who has never seen love, confirm that? Curse the tiger for making him feel these things!

"Do you like me back" Atsushi nervously asked, breaking the laid back persona he was holding for the past few moments. He was suddenly nervous as hell and it was showing. Akutagawa was honestly impressied he wasn't a wreck till now, maybe it's because atsushi was sure of his own Feelings while replying to akutagawa's questions. "Akutagawa... Do you?"----Akutagawa is many things. Impulse being one, indirect being one.

So he wasn't surprised when instead of relying with I don't really know, he just kissed atsushi. Well more like gave him a small peak on the lips.. With his lips. Atsushi stared back stunned, now being the one with no words. A few minutes passed by and atsushi licked his lips.

" Chocolate" Atsushi whispered before smiling like a love sick idiot. Akutagawa looked away, okay Maybe he was flustered.

"I don't know" Akutagawa confessed "I don't know if I like you... But what I make you feel, you make me feel... So I will say perhaps I do"

Atsushi stared before smiling gently. Everything was alright. They could go slow, with many hot chocolate dates, movie nights and each other.
