i decided to represent the lore of the "Cannibal Community," specifically the story of Devourer and Ringing, and my interpretation of how they came to be leaders. I based this on the story details I knew from Ritikin’s posts and stories, so I’m not sure about the lore’s accuracy!
Lore: The Cannibal Community is a clan of huge cannibal slugcats living in the Shaded Citadel and devouring slugcats that pass by there. This isn’t a specific species; it’s just a story belonging to Ritikin in which some of my characters also appear.Currently, there are four generations in the community, and this PMV tells the story of the very dawn of the fourth generation, specifically the overthrow of the old leader Absorber and his right-hand the Fading.
The Absorber was not a very good leader: he formally followed the community’s faith, but did so without respect, as he was driven solely by the desire to devour others, to dominate, and to feel stronger and more important than everyone else. The Absorber had a mutation in one of his paws, which he used to mark his followers - a split cross on their foreheads.The Fading was put in her post by necessity, due to tradition. The leader didn’t care about her at all. The Fading had poor eyesight, and after receiving the mark, she came to rely mainly on her hearing and sense of smell. She disliked absolutely everything and everyone, but thanks to her status, no one harmed her.Competing with the Absorber for the title of leader, the Devourer soon overthrew the leader, cruelly killed him, and then ate him, in accordance with the community’s tradition.The Fading was also soon ripped apart by the Devourer, with a little help from Ringing; she was unable to put up a fight and resigned herself to her bitter fate.
