FLOO!! have you seen the most recent JJK episode? that shit was beautiful. I don't want to gush in your inbox but Hironori Tanaka (director, storyboarder and key-animator) really proved that he's a master of his craft. Just the sheer violence... he always makes it feel so visceral and raw with the fluid movement and detailed artwork. The domain expansion (and Mahito in general) was just terrifying. And those are just the technical aspects, don't even get me started on the storytelling.

imagine having this on your bedroom shelf and trying to explain to the girl you brought home that it's in fact not a naked man but anime merchandise of the supernatural manifestation of an ability to chase someone down at 60km an hour and absorb their nutrients like a leech (and is a homage to the band deep purple). not a naked man.

I really don't know what I was expecting from JJK other than typical battle shounen stuff but it was NOT a surprisingly earnest take on the age-old question "What would you do if you can't save everyone?"

You made that post about Ogata and Mogami and I just realised that there's a "projects onto kids" character in JJK. He's also murderous! But sadly he won't be showing up this season. Funnily enough his character design also low-key looks like Mogami's. I have a feeling you would like him. Also glad you seem to be enjoying the anime, MAPPA has been doing such a great job.
