Queen of Swords

   ”When you finish your work. That’ll give you something to look forward to, right?”

"Yes, that would be correct," she admitted shyly. "Very well, I will let you know when I am ready to come collect them then."

   ”Oh, I’m more than certain I wouldn’t have any use for books on calligraphy or raising bonsai trees. I think a swordplay book ended up in the pile, too. Where he amasses so many books, I’ll never know." Nor am I sure why I’m the usual designee for them when he finishes them. He assured, lifting his tone to be a little more lively than just prior.

"When would you like me to come by and pick them up?"

"Should stick around though…" she was never good with sounding sentimental no matter how hard she tried “..Pretty sure they miss ya.”

"I know," she sighed once again. Contrary to Queen's belief, maybe the class had missed her more than she thought. Maybe she would find out later when she had run into more of them.

”.. s’at mean yer back then yer majesty?” she gave a slight smirk.

"Sice..." she sighed before giving up, not caring to argue with Sice about her calling her names this time. "I cannot say for sure, but I suppose I am back for now."

   Simple offer, he figured, anything to keep away from the conversation in which he was the pot calling the kettle black. It would be a shame if somebody overheard and pointed it out, after all.

"Only if you are certain you have no need for them..."

   I’m one to talk, though, considering I pass out in the library most nights.

(all-nighters were not her thing; nor would they ever be. the thought of not sleeping for a whole night made her cringe internally.) 

"I-I am honoured that you think of me in that way..." she blurted in lack of a better response. 

   ”… Queen, if you need some help, you can ask, you know. Even if it is just giving you some notes." A pause. "… Don’t apologize.”

(here, she makes a silent promise to never fall behind schedule again. she hates being a bother to people.)
