•Schizotypal Personality Disorder. She displays an insane amount of the symptoms, and I find instances of stpd (even through coding) extremely rare in fiction. Might make a bigger post going through each of her symptoms

•I would say she qualifies for a delusional disorder, though I also think she’s somewhat lucid, more so than gooseberry for example, so i’m less sure about this one

•Canon amputee +has many scars, just wanted to say I KNOW those scars itch

Franco

•Age regression obviously, probably has a good amount of control over it but might lose control and regress when triggered

•Borderline Personality Disorder. He fits the whole diagnostic criteria to a T

•I can also see NPD for him

•Substance Use Disorder. Man is coked out 24/7 and you can’t convince me otherwise. Probably also used a lot of the other stuff he was selling.

•A fetishistic paraphilia, among many others if we’re honest

•I just know he has a crazy amount of healthy problems. From his breathing I’d assume he has asthma, and i’m sure most have already heard the popular hc that he has pfeiffers syndrome. I like to think he’s far sighted which is why he has crazy aim from afar but opts to hit you with the hilt of his gun when up close. He’s also probably had multiple tbi’s at this point. Guy’s going through it.

Gooseberry

•Delusional disorder, i feel like this one is pretty obvious

•DID, but specifically very Co-fronting

•Considering all the experimenting murkoffs done on her she also probably has had more than a few tbi’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if she often had seizures and hallucinations

•Paranoid Personality Disorder, which i haven’t seen brought up before but think fits him very well

•Some people are gonna hate this but I think the marks on his face aren’t burns but are from some kind of STD/disease. Likely given to him intentionally by murkoff. Probably syphilis or smt

•Has health issues, but less so than arora. Again I have a hard time placing what but I do think he has lung issues based on his breathing. Maybe it’s just from walking for two though

In each environment they also have elements that are there solely to make the PA’s aggravated. The ship in the docks being called Angelina comes to mind.

If we’re to assume that each aggravating element in the PA’s environments are built off of parts of their past, then I think looking at some of the mannequins lines in Franco’s trials becomes a good insight into Franco’s past

The dialogue above is from the same docks map. The mannequin is talking about Franco’s insecurities which we’re already aware of which i think gives my former assumption more merit.

This makes the children’s lines in the suburbs really, really sad.

I think these lines allude to past abuse Franco’s faced. We don’t have anything stated explicitly in canon but outlast is the kind of game where smaller details are very intentional.

Franco has dialogue about hating being laughed at too, and while it seems then that he’s talking specifically about a woman laughing at him, whether it be angelina or a prostitute, and the reason for the laughing likely being his impotence which he’s already insecure about, i think there can be multiple reasons something can have a negative association and so the dialogue about the laughing sticks out to me. I could be reaching though.

A big part of coyles character is a commentary on the fragile masculinity within the police force and military, and so behind his masculinity he’s shown to be extremely insecure and paranoid. He’s also a violent misogynist, having killed all his wives and talking about women only as a means of sexual gratification. Despite how he talks about women his voice lines make it obvious he could be inclined towards men.

In kill the snitch especially he has many lines about the snitch, and talks about him more affectionately than he does the wives he’s had. He doesn’t necessarily love the snitch, but he loves the gratification that the snitch gives him. Because of the insecurity i mentioned before, he would never admit to this. He’s already an extremely sadistic person so he perverts all homosexual action through sadistic violence. As well as his torture of the snitch he plays out his desires with mannequins.

Many of the mannequins in his trial setting are put in positions meant to imitate gay sex, and there are burn marks on them from coyles baton.

Even in his character design he’s meant to imitate men from the leather scene. His repressed homosexuality is a huge part of his character and you can’t fully under his fragile masculinity without taking it into account imo.

(In my mind he’s an extremely repressed gay man but i can understand bisexual interpretations of his character)
