Liquid Luck Roll The Dice Challenge - Winter Edition 2023 is here! ⛄

The prompts :

- This is a prompt-based challenge. Every prompt you’ll receive consists of three different things; a winter prompt, a word you must use in your work, and an emotion. There are 10 winter prompts, 10 words and 10 emotions. Prompts will be decided by three rolls of the dice. To receive a prompt, you can send me a message here on Tumblr, or if you don’t have a Tumblr account you can send me an anon ask with your email (which I will not publish) and I will email you a prompt.

- Winter prompt : This round the winter part of your prompt consists of a photo and a connected winter-themed prompt. For example your photo may be a photo of a snowman, and the connected winter-themed prompt is 'Snowball fight'. It's up to you if you prefer to use the photo as inspiration, or the winter-themed prompt. Or perhaps you'd like to use both. Interpret the prompt as you wish, but make sure it’s in there in some way, shape or form.

- Word : The word must be used in your work. For example, if you word is 'Rose', you may use rose, roses, rosebud etc. But not prose, dextrose, morose etc.

- Emotion : Interpret the emotion as you wish, but make sure it is in your work in some way, shape or form.

Just a few simple rules & guidelines for this challenge :

- Both fics and art are welcome for this challenge. There is no minimum or maximum word count, and all forms of art (moodboard, drawing, fan video etc.) are welcome.

- If you receive a prompt that you really can’t work with, no worries! You can skip up to three prompts during the duration of this challenge. Just let me know, and I’ll roll the dice for a new prompt.

- All works posted to the AO3 Collection will be shared to the Tumblr page. Please give it up to 48 hours for me to share your work to Tumblr. If it hasn’t been shared after that time, there’s a chance I have missed it. Then feel free to send me a message to remind me to share it. The AO3 Collection will be the same as the one for the Liquid Luck Drabble & Art Challenge, but works for the Roll The Dice Challenge will only be accepted between the 1st of December and the 31st of January. After that, the challenge is over and the AO3 Collection is only open to Liquid Luck Drabble & Art Challenge works again.

- If you only post your work to Tumblr / Wattpad etc. and you want it shared to the page, please send me a message with the following information and a link to your work. :

- Title : - Pairing/Character : - Rating : - Warnings (if any) : - Summary :

- Drabbles / fics will be shared with a post with information and a link to your work. If you create art for the challenge and you tag the page, I will reblog your art, but as tagging doesn’t always work, please send me a message if your art hasn’t been reblogged after 48 hours.

- You can create as many works for this challenge as you like, but you can only request one prompt at a time. And make sure to post your work(s) before the 31st of January.

- Works for this challenge have to be new. Older works that fit the prompt will not be accepted into the AO3 collection or shared to the Tumblr page.

- This is a Harry Potter challenge, and all pairings are allowed, as long as they include characters from the book / movie. This includes Rare Pairs, Next Gen, Cross Gen and characters from connected canon such as Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts. Your work does not need to include Liquid Luck (the name comes from our ongoing Liquid Luck Drabble & Art Challenge)

- Any rating or theme is allowed for the challenge. But please make sure to put up the correct tags, and to add a warning if your story contains things like MCD, Violence, Non-Con etc.

- Prompts for the Liquid Luck Roll The Dice Challenge may be combined with prompts for other challenges, but please make sure to check with the mods for those other challenges / fests as well!

- A masterlist of all the works created for this challenge will be shared on this Tumblr page after the challenge has ended.

What is HP Soulmates Fest?

HP Soulmates is an anonymous prompt-based fest that celebrates soulmates and soul bonds of all forms (romantic? platonic? mortal enemies?) We ran for the first time in 2022 and we’re so excited to be back for more soulmates-inspired fics, art, and podfics!

When is it?

Prompting: May 15-30, 2023

Claiming: June 3 - August 1

Submissions due: August 15

Posting: starts September 4

Reveals: October

We’ll keep everyone updated here on our tumblr! Prompting will be done on Airtable and works will be submitted on AO3 and promoted here on the tumblr starting in September.

We’re also adding a fest Discord server this year! The invite link will be posted in a few days, so get hyped and ready to squee! 💞

I can’t believe it’s already December!!! Where did this year go?

We have so many amazing prompts for you all to choose from! So grab the one you love most as soon as possible before it’s claimed by someone else!

REMEMBER!! You can only claim one prompt until you have fully submitted the creative work for said prompt. All characters in the throuple must be 17+ and the pairing MUST have at least ONE of the characters as part human or humanoid sentient magical creature. And to self claim, check the prompt list that your idea hasn’t been created as a prompt yet, then simply fill in the form and select self claim and fill in the info accordingly!

Rules/Guidelines

Obviously, this fest is all about that Weasel and Ferret duo, Ron and Draco, so every prompt and piece submitted must feature them as the main romantic and/or sexual pairing.

All participants must be over the age of 18.

Prompts can be claimed from the list of those which were submitted, or you can opt to use your own prompt. Prompts can be claimed once for fic and once for art. You do not have to enter a prompt in order to claim one, and vice versa.

Art needs to show a comparable amount of work and be of a decent standard. Everything must be betaed, proof-read, checked, and/or edited. There is no minimum requirement for any medium you choose, so long as the work you submit is in a finished and polished state.

If you don’t have a beta, I always recommend asking in any of the various fanfic writers’ groups out there! In keeping with the stress free style of this fest, your beta is not necessarily required to be someone official in fandom; if you’d be more comfortable having a friend or family member look everything over, you are welcome to have them do so!

Once you have submitted your piece, feel free to select another one! (And I definitely encourage this, as I’d love nothing more than to see a slew of Ron/Draco goodies in my inbox! ;D)

Posting will be anonymous, so please don’t give the game away by posting anywhere else, or replying to comments, or hinting on your socials until after reveals. Also, because this is an anonymous fest, the piece you submit must be a complete, stand-alone work and can’t be based on any of your other works, prequels, sequels, etc.

All submissions will be hosted on AO3, at the Ron/Draco Fest collection. Feel free to check it out, but please only post your submission there yourself if you are 100% sure you know how. One mistake can make the difference between your fic being posted before its time, so if you find yourself unsure of how to do this in any way, please feel free to send everything to the mod email, and I will take care of it. More info will be coming as we get closer to submissions being due on how to submit your work - either to the collection, or to the mod.

In order to properly submit your finished work for this fest, you will be required to add the mod account on AO3 as a co-creator. The mod account is rdfestmod. A more detailed explanation for why this will now be a strict rule going forward in any and all fests I run can be found on my announcement for Ron/Draco Fest 2021. I’m always here to answer questions, so if you’re concerned about anything at all, please feel free to reach out to me!

This exchange is focused on HP rare pairs. That means any HP ship that is not a common ship (common ships: Drarry, Wolfstar, Dramione, Jily, Snarry, Hinny).

We highly encourage being open to trying new ships for this exchange. It will make matching easier, and you never know what amazing ships you may discover!

Although only one gift is required, if at all possible, please we are begging you create more than one gift.

The coin’s modern travels began when a man in France wanted to build a house but was short on cash. He remembered that he had inherited a coin collection from his grandfather, a farmer in the Paris region. After going through his grandfather’s collection, the man discovered the Charlemagne coin, known as a denarius, and he put it up for auction on eBay.
