Tyyde the Tide

This dream construct has Twisted into a corporeal form due to her Astro's unique affliction.

Originally created to help with his alertness, she often abdicated her duty so the two could indulge in daydreams. Now that Astro's Ichor-laden mind is incapable of holding pleasant thoughts, she prowls the Waking World for an unguarded consciousness to swim into.

Mechanics

[DREAM TEAM]

If this Twisted appears, the other Oceanids are guaranteed spawns; Twisted Astro or Astro's floor is required for this Twisted to appear. [SEASHELL]

At the start of the floor this Twisted inquires with her seashell. The Toon with the lowest stamina stat is selected by this action. Non-selected Toons are ignored.

[TYYDE FORCE]

Slowly advances on the Toon with the lowest stamina stat up until a certain distance; followed Toons informed of her position through dynamic ocean ambience.

[TIDALLY LOCKED]

Permanent status effect applied when Tyyde is a certain distance from her target. Twisted’s speed is increased to be equal to the target Toon. Twisted will always remain a given distance from the target Toon. Two new behaviors are adopted:

A. Anti-stillness: Tyyde will lunge at the Tidally Locked Toon if they are stationary for 5 seconds, believing them to be lost in thought. This attack can be dodged.

B. Advance: If the Tidally Locked Toon is extracting, Twisted will slowly advance to their position and injure them; getting off the machine resets Twisted to default distance.

[INGRESS] PANIC MODE.

Tyyde is locked into her Advance behavior and approaches the Tidally Locked Toon regardless of their activity. Contact made every 12.5 seconds while outside the elevator.

“Uhh… why is Shrimpo out of breath when I was the one doing all the machines?!”

“He was being chased the whoooole time.”

“Ohhhh.”

“So uhm, Connie! Were you also being chased?”

“Nah. I was watching someone that was though!”

“I—huff, huff. THIS IS WHY I HATE YOUR BROTHER LESS!!!”

“Oh? OHHOHOHO! CHOOSE YOUR NEXT WORDS CAREFULLY.”

“I HATE YOUR FACE!! IT’S JUST AS AWFUL AS BADSTRO’S FLOOR!!!!!!”

Twirl the Whirlpool

This dream construct has Twisted into a corporeal form due to her Astro's unique affliction.

Originally created to help him experience and control nightmares, she now brings Toons of the Waking World into her curated sea of terror.

Mechanics

[DREAM TEAM]

If this Twisted appears, the other Oceanids are guaranteed spawns; Twisted Astro or Astro's floor is required for this Twisted to appear.

[DIVE SPOT]

An Ichor Leak event is forced when this Twisted spawns; Ichor puddles are larger.

[TWIRL'S POOL]

An Ichor puddle is designated at random to become a non-static Ichor Whirlpool. Toon flight/levitation immunity is ignored. Toons pulled into the Ichor Whirlpool resurface from a random Ichor puddle.

[TERRORIZED]

Status effect applied to any Toon hurt by an Ichor Whirlpool twice; increases Oceanids' aggression.

[MAELSTROM] PANIC MODE.

Whirlpool location changes faster. Twirl sings to extend pull range beyond the Ichor Whirlpool. Any Toon that enters the pull AOE on land gets Slow II; all Toons immediately pulled under when entering an Ichor Whirlpool.

“Ooh. That look. You saw them again, huh? Wanna talk about it?”

“Look: I’m doing my best to cover for you, but you’ll have to explain your… magic dream world friends eventually. Right now, everyone thinks there’s a hidden group of Summer Holiday Toons. Yesterday, Finn’s family. Tomorrow, they’ll think of you.”

“Because only I could hurt them that way.”

“No, because Gardenview’s Nymphs only show up when you—”

“I help everyone sleep. I make their dreams. I soothe their nightmares and in return I learn every secret of their unconscious mind. Things they never noticed about themselves. Things they don’t know that I know. Things I don’t forget. Things they now see in the Ichor. And they’re going to think of me because only I could hurt them that way.”
