I am literally stuck on coming up with a town name. Can you please list some ideas of like prefixes (Maple) and sufixes (row)? I need help I've been trying to come up with one for the past few days now and I can't think of ANYTHING, I tried using town name generators... if you could list some ideas I can combine to create a town name that would really help me out
Here’s a list of some of my favourites. They can all be first or second halves of a name, as long as they’re 8 letters or less. They’re sorted by words that have a similar feel to them. I try not to use words that are more than 5 letters long or else they get hard to combine.
Forest words: Maple, Field, Wood, Weed, Seed, Oak, Bark, Nut, Tree, Dew, Sap, Rock, Stone, Fall, Leaf, Root
Flower words:Rose, Lily, Bloom, Tulip, Spring, Cosmo, Pansy
Fruit words:Apple, Pear, Peach, Lemon, Berry, Fruit, Sweet, Pit, Sour
Sky/Weather words:Sky, Sun, Moon, Star, Night, Day, Cloud, Rain, Ray, Shine, Dark, Wind, Fog, Drop, Mist, Warm
Winter words:Snow, Frost, Ice, Slip, Bite, Nip, Chill, Cold, Flake, Coat
Water words:Lake, Bay, Beach, Shore, Sea, Flow, Ocean, Wet, Damp, Moist, River, Pond, Water
Colours:Red, Blue, Black, Green, Aqua, Brown, White, Teal, Amber
Months:March, April, May, June, July (the rest are kinda long)
Music:Tune, Beat, Song, Music, Drum, Flute, Sing
Other:Row, York, Way, Lane, Tip, Top, Low, High, South, East, North, West, Over, Under, Out, Road, Run, Trim, New, Old, Past, Slow, Short, Small, Big, Tiny, Gift
One tip that I have is to swap the order that makes sense. For example, you might think Oak Tree sounds pretty good, but how about you try Treeoak instead? Mixing and matching between the groups could give you some great results too.
