Handwriting Analysis: Slant
DIRECTIONS: Look at the chart to measure how far you slant. Slant reveals the degree to which you express your real emotional feelings to others, depending on your mood. (There is no slant-difference between left-handed and right-handed. slant is slant.)
LEFTWARD: \\\
Slant A βΒ Emotionally ill. Totally emotionally repressed (keeps back) and locked up in his or her own world. Cannot be reached. Leans over backward to avoid emotional situations. Past- and self-oriented. (Among convicted rapists, there is a preponderance of leftward slanters. An inability to properly express real feelings.)
Slant B βΒ Represses (keeps back) real emotional feelings. Appears cold, evasive (avoids answering directly), and self-absorbed. Independent, hard to fathom (understand), and difficult to get along with.
Slant C βΒ Represses real emotional feelings. Cool exterior masks inhibited reactions. Diplomatic, reserved, not straightforward. (This is saying that how you react on the outside isnβt really how you feel on the inside; you put a mask on.)
VERTICAL: lll
Slant D βΒ Suppresses (puts an end to) emotional responses. Head over heart. It is very difficult to write this way unless you have complete emotional self-control. Undemonstrative, independent, detached, cautious, diplomatic attitude. (Britains are taught to write this way)
RIGHTWARD: ///
Slant E βΒ Moderate expression of feelings. Healthy emotional responses. (70% of Americans write this way - theΒ Palmer Method)
Slant F βΒ Dominated by emotions. Heart over head. Intensely ardent (enthusiastic/passionate), affectionate, friendly, sensitive, jealous. Emotional brushfire.Β
Slant G βΒ Carried away by emotionalism. Heart rules the head. Excessively fervent (displaying passionate intensity), ardent, romantic, touchy, oversensitive, nervous, high-strung (highly intense), capable of hysterical outbursts. Difficult to get along with. Volatile (explosive behavior). (After collecting and studying the writing of hundreds of murderers, graphologists have found that most of them have a very far rightward slant. They lack emotional control. We may all have murderous feelings, but we donβt act upon them.)
UNSTABLE: // \\ ||
In all directionsΒ (in a short period of time) βΒ Unstable person. Unpredictable, nervous, erratic, undisciplined, excitable, fickle, capricious, lacking in good judgement and common sense. As if youβre pulled in all directions. (These people might have a warm personality at the moment, but will have a cold attitude the next minute)Β

1. Realizing Your Dreams βIf you donβt know where you are going, youβll end up someplace else.β - Lawrence J. Peter In order for us to achieve our dreams, we must have a vision of our goals. Writing down our dreams and creating a list of actions helps us stick to our plan. As itβs said βif you canβt measure it, you canβt manage itβ. When we turn our goals into measurable actions, we gain clarity and are able to see the necessary steps we must take in order to achieve them. Action: Visualize a life of your wildest dreams. What did you dream of doing when you were a child? What would you do if you had a million dollars? Create a vision for your goals and start breaking them down into small actions that you can take on a day by day basis. 2. Overcoming Fear βIt was a high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, βAlways do what you are afraid to do.β - Ralph Waldo Emerson The best way to learn something is to dive right in to it. When we overcome our fear of failure, we learn that only those who are asleep make no mistakes. Fear is the only thing keeping us from experiencing a life of love and fulfillment. If we make a commitment to an uncompromisable quest for truth, we will realize that as we grow more into the truth, our fears start to disappear. Action: You must define your fears in order to conquer them. Create a list of everything youβre afraid of and start facing them one at a time. Make a commitment to yourself now to not let fear rule your life. 3. Intention and Desire βAll that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.β- Guatama Buddha Our thoughts determine our reality. When we stop thinking about what we donβt and begin thinking about what we do want, our lives begin to transform. Instead of working against our desires and intentions, we move into alignment with them. Action: Create a list of your intentions and desires. Wherever you go, take this list with you. Read it when you wake up and before you go to sleep. 4. Happiness βHappiness depends more on the inward disposition of mind than on outward circumstances.β - Benjamin Franklin Happiness comes from an inner peace, understanding and acceptance of life; a perspective of truth that opens your eyes to the beauty of life all around us. Happiness cannot be achieved by external status, it must be an internal state that we realize when we see our innate perfection. Action: Realize that happiness is a choice. In every decision you make ask yourself βhow can I respond to make myself happy and fulfilled?β 5. Self Acceptance βIf a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.β β Jesus When we stop trying to be what we are not, we realize our authenticity. Before we had knowledge, we were completely authentic. We learn to use knowledge to measure and judge, which is a powerful tool we have as humans. However we create an image of perfection in our mind of what we should be, but are not. We confuse knowledge for nature. We believe in the lie of our imperfection. When we realize this we can reclaim the truth of our perfection and live in love and acceptance. Action: Make a commitment to never go against yourself. Practice non-judgment and realize that the same part of your mind that condemns you is the same voice that caused you to take the action in the first place. We donβt even have to believe what we say to ourselves. 6. Appreciation and Gratitude βSo much has been given to me, I have not time to ponder over that which has been denied.β - Helen Keller How many times do we count our misfortunes rather than our blessings? When we take time to open our eyes to the miracle of life we can see the many gifts that have been given to us. Remembering all the beautiful aspects of life and all the reasons you are blessed can immediately shift our mood. We can move from sorrow and despair to appreciation and hope. Action: Each time you find yourself complaining about something, re-direct your focus to something you are grateful for. Make a habit of transforming your awareness of troubles into an awareness of abundance. 7. The Art of Simplicity βI made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it short.β - Blaise Pascal Perfection is not when there is nothing to add, but when there is nothing more to take away. As Bruce Lee once said βthe height of cultivation always runs to simplicity.β True mastery of our lives is realizing the simple joys of life, removing distractions and clutter from our lives. Action: The art of simplicity is knowing what to take away. Practice recognizing when youβre spending your time on unimportant tasks and re-focus on the important. This list is by no means exhaustive. There are other many great teachings that I did not include here because I felt like they were already expounded on thoroughly elsewhere, such as Einstein and Gandhiβs timeless classics. There are also great teachings to be found from our parents or friends.

24 Invaluable Skills To Learn For Free Online This Year
Hereβs an easy resolution: This stuff is all free as long as you have access to a computer, and the skills you learn will be invaluable in your career, and/or life in general.Β
1. Become awesome at Excel.
Chandoo is one of many gracious Excel experts who wants to share their knowledge with the world. Excel excellence is one of those skills that will improve your chances of getting a good job instantly, and it will continue to prove invaluable over the course of your career. What are you waiting for?
2. Learn how to code.
littleanimalgifs.tumblr.com
Perhaps no other skill you can learn for free online has as much potential to lead to a lucrative career. Want to build a site for your startup? Want to build the next big app? Want to get hired at a place like BuzzFeed? You should learn to code. There are a lot of places that offer free or cheap online coding tutorials, but I recommend Code Academy for their breadth and innovative program. If you want to try a more traditional route, Harvard offers its excellent Introduction to Computer Science course online for free.
3. Make a dynamic website.
You could use a pre-existing template or blogging service, or you could learn Ruby on Rails and probably change your life forever. Hereβs an extremely helpful long list of free Ruby learning tools that includes everything from Rails for Zombies to Learn Ruby The Hard Way. Go! Ruby! Some basic programming experience, like one of the courses above, might be helpful (but not necessarily required if youβre patient with yourself).
4. Learn to make a mobile game.
If youβre not interested in coding anything other than fun game apps, you could trythis course from the University of Reading. It promises to teach you how to build a game in Java, even if you donβt have programming experience! If you want to make a truly great game, you might want to read/listen up on Game Theory first.
5. Start reading faster.
Spreeder is a free online program that will improve your reading skill and comprehension no matter how old you are. With enough practice, you could learn to double, triple, or even quadruple the speed at which you read passages currently, which is basically like adding years to your life.
6. Learn a language!
With Duolingo, you can learn Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, or English (from any of the above or more). Thereβs a mobile app and a website, and the extensive courses are completely free.
Full disclosure: BuzzFeed and other websites are in a partnership with DuoLingo, but they did not pay or ask for this placement.
7. Pickle your own vegetables.
Tired of your farmerβs market haul going bad before you use it all? Or do you just love tangy pickled veggies? You too can pickle like a pro thanks to SkillShare and Travis Grillo.
8. Improve your public speaking skills.
You can take the University of Washingtonβs Intro to Public Speaking for free online. Once you learn a few tricks of the trade, youβll be able to go into situations like being asked to present at a company meeting or giving a presentation in class without nearly as much fear and loathing.
9. Get a basic handle of statistics.
UC Berkeley put a stats intro class on iTunes. Once you know how to understand the numbers yourself, youβll never read a biased βnewsβ article the same way again β 100% of authors of this post agree!
10. Understand basic psychology.
Knowing the basics of psych will bring context to your understanding of yourself, the dynamics of your family and friendships, whatβs really going on with your coworkers, and the woes and wonders of society in general. Yale University has its Intro to Psychology lectures online for free.
11. Make your own music.
Step one: Learn how to play guitar: Justin Guitar is a fine and free place to start learning chords and the basic skills youβll need to be able to play guitar β from there, itβs up to you, but once you know the basics, just looking up tabs for your favorite songs and learning them on your own is how many young guitar players get their start (plus itβs an excellent party trick).
Step two: A delightful free voice lesson from Berklee College Of Music.
Step three: Have you always thought you had an inner TSwift? Berklee College of Music offers an Introduction to Songwriting course completely for free online. The course is six weeks long, and by the end of the lesson youβll have at least one completed song.
Step four: Lifehackerβs basics of music production will help you put it all together once you have the skills down! Youβll be recording your own music, ready to share with your valentine or the entire world, in no time!
12. Learn to negotiate.
Let Stanfordβs Stan Christensen explain how to negotiate in business and your personal life, managing relationships for your personal gain and not letting yourself be steamrolled. There are a lot of football metaphors and itβs great.
13. Stop hating math.
If you struggled with math throughout school and now have trouble applying it in real-world situations when it crops up, try Saylor.orgβs Real World Math course. It will reteach you basic math skills as they apply IRL. Very helpful!
14. Start drawing!
All kids draw β so why do we become so afraid of it as adults? Everyone should feel comfortable with a sketchbook and pencil, and sketching is a wonderful way to express your creativity. DrawSpace is a great place to start. (I also highly recommend the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain if you can drop a few dollars for a used copy.)

Macalester Collegeβs lecture series is excellent. If youβre more interested in journalism, try Wikiversityβs course selection.

Another invaluable skill that will get you places in your career, learning Photoshop can be as fun as watching the hilarious videos on You Suck At Photoshop or as serious as this extensive Udemy training course (focused on photo retouching).
19. Take decent pictures.
Lifehackerβs basics of photography might be a good place to start. Learn how your camera works, the basic of composition, and editing images in post-production. If you finish that and youβre not sure what to do next, hereβs a short course on displaying and sharing your digital photographs.
20. Learn to knit.
Instructables has a great course by a woman who is herself an online-taught knitter. Youβll be making baby hats and cute scarves before this winterβs over!
21. Get started with investing in stocks.
If you are lucky enough to have a regular income, you should start learning about savings and investment now. Investopedia has a ton of online resources, including this free stocks basics course. Invest away!
22. Clean your house in a short amount of time.
Unf$#k Your Habitat has a great emergency cleaning guide for when your mother-in-law springs a surprise visit on you. While youβre over there, the entire blog is good for getting organized and clean in the long term, not just in βemergencies.β Youβll be happier for it.
23. Start practicing yoga.
Most cities have free community classes (try just searching Google or inquiring at your local yoga studio), or if youβre more comfortable trying yoga at home, YogaGlohas a great 15-day trial and Yome is a compendium of 100% free yoga videos. If youβre already familiar with basic yoga positions but you need an easy way to practice at home, I recommend YogaTailorβs free trial as well.
24. Tie your shoelaces more efficiently.
Itβs simple and just imagine the minutes of your life youβll save!
September 19, 2017, a terrible earthquake occurred in Mexico. My brother was trapped under the rubble of the building he lived in and which had been collapsed. Few hours later the dog Frida found him, and thanks to her he was saved. With this retablo, I ask Saint Francis of Assisi to protect and look after Frida and other rescue dogs who risk their own lives during the catastrophes to save ours.
