Give me a Mike freakout because his dynamic with El as her brother actually feels wayyy more correct than his dynamic as her boyfriend and he doesn’t know what to do with it

Ohmygosh give me Mike ending up having to present Will’s project on Alan turning??? He’d have to read up on it cause there’s no way he’d not do this for Will and he’d get to #that part about him and his brain would short fucking circuit

And give me Will overhearing things from other people that’re a little suspicious for Mike — maybe Mrs. Wheeler asks if he’s going to send out those letters to Will at all? Maybe he finds them? Maybe he READS them?

What if Will is called to the counselor’s office and ends up being basically told all the shit Mike’s going through?

“How long?” Regulus demanded furiously as he stormed up to his brother in the corridor, shoving his shoulder in frustration.

Sirius, though, used to Regulus’s antics, just grinned lightly as he stumbled. “Odd question to ask a family member, mate. Taking after our parents already? M’not interested, but maybe Narcissa or Bella–”

“Fuck off,” Regulus growled, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. “How long have you been teaching Potter to speak French? Be honest, Sirius, it’s bloody important.”

Sensing Regulus’s distress, Sirius let out a little sigh and shrugged. “Dunno, Reg. A few months? He wanted to surprise you, I thought it was disgustingly sweet, you know him. Why, you’re actually mad about that? Dunno what he sees in you, to be hon–”

“Of course it’s sweet!” the younger boy hissed, throwing his hands in the air and turning away. “He’s always sweet! But Salazar, I didn’t know he could understand–” he cut himself off, pacing a bit in agitation.

Sirius broke into an amused grin. “Wait. You’ve been saying things, thinking he didn’t…what did you say?”

Regulus turned to him, biting his lip over and over, seemingly terrified to say it out loud in front of someone he knew would understand. “Je t’aime. Je t’aime tellement que ça me fait peur.”

Of course, Sirius could have made another joke, but he decided to take pity. This was too important. Wincing, he asked softly, “When did you say that?”

Now Regulus slumped over. “Yesterday,” he whispered.

Then, everything clicked all at once, and Sirius let out a hollow laugh.

“This is not the time for laughing, Sirius! I–”

But he cut off his brother’s furious rambling with a hand in the air. “I’m not laughing at you,” he explained, a smile forming over his face. “Just…that explains why he asked me this morning how to say ‘I feel the same way’ in French.”
