The sound of his sisters voice calm the hybrid and he settled back down but kept his glance in her direction. he laughed at the others obvious discomfort and disgust "I know... but I feel connected to this place... maybe its hopes fault... but I feel like a crescent wolf... even if I may not be.." he admitted - of course he never really knew which pack he was from yet. "plus its beautiful... and quiet.." he paused. "Why are you out this far if you dislike it?" he questioned.

"Hey, a wolf is a wolf, right? You're all connected in some way, shape or form. Even if you're not apart of the pack, you still have a bond in some way, right?" Being that she wasn't a werewolf herself, she could never put herself in her brother's shoes. But she could offer her sympathy when the time called for it. "Beautiful and quiet? I'll give you that one.. Although it'd be a lot more beautiful if I could look at it from the comfort of a cabin." She let out a laugh. "I was looking for you, obviously." Cassidy playfully rolled her eyes, nudging him gently with her shoulder. Truthfully, with the murders going on around the city, she was worried about her siblings. "Just making sure you're okay." Cassidy was never one to shy away from feelings, but she was much too playful and carefree to ever admit when she was worried - or worse; scared.

Charlie was in a rush, with somewhere to be. He didn't want to stop and chat, but he also didn't want to come off as rude. Letting out a heavy sigh, he simply shrugged his shoulders. The last thing he needed was a buddy; he preferred being alone. "I'd rather not have a buddy. I have things to do, but hey Cass, maybe we can raincheck?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

Cassidy held up her hands disarmingly, giving him a smile. "Alright, I get it. You don't want to spend time with your cousin. I see how it is," she joked, chuckling under her breath before waving him off playfully. "Reach out to me when you have some free time on your hands, kid. We need some good ol' cousin bonding time."

"I'm more into the writing side of it, if I'm being honest," Maddison replied with a shrug of her shoulders, intrigued by what he was drawing. "I haven't really shown anyone my work before, so I guess you'll be the first," she nervously explained as she handed him the black book she had been writing in. Concern and worry flashed across her face as he began to look through the book.

"A writer and an artist. We'd make a great team for an illustration novel." He said, his tone carrying the amusement that his face didn't portray. "The first? Well, I feel lucky. Trust me when I say I know it's difficult to share something like this with someone else.. So thank you for trusting me to be the first." He offered her a small, friendly smile while handing over his own notebook, taking the one she gave him in exchange.

william mikaelson didn't have anything to do with tyler's dislike or distrust for the mikaelsons , in particular klaus mikaelson . regardless of how much time had passed there were still something that just couldn't be forgiven . the lockwolf had kept his distance from the mikaleson and even from caroline because the truth was he knew that the mikaelson could never be trusted . nevertheless , the lockwood male couldn't blame the mikaelson kid anymore then someone could blame him for his father's sins . " i'm just working on some blueprints . we're planning to do some extension to the property . " he confessed , since it wasn't something he needed to keep secret .

William could understand the animosity that still lingered between his father and Tyler Lockwood, even after all of these years. There was a lot of bad blood between the two of them. To the point where William himself was surprised that Tyler could stomach the sight of him. He was glad that he seemed to not have any ill will towards him though. Especially because William, for better or worse, didn't have any towards him. "Oh, really?" That had piqued William's interest a bit as he moved closer, glancing down at the blueprints. "What kind of extension? Adding more rooms?"

nikolas was the master at dodging talks about his feeling and avoiding his trauma by focusing on others . it was a lot easier than talking about his dead fiance . or the fact that it was mau sister , eleanor hildegard who he had killed in that car accident . " nothing much going on over here . . what about you ? " he questioned . " has mau found a way to forgive you yet ? "

William winced internally at the question, his brow furrowing slightly before he smoothed his expression out a moment later. "Straight to the point, aren't you?" He let out a humorless laugh. That was at least one trait that the two of them shared - straightforward. "No, she hasn't. And I can't really blame her for that.. But at the same time, I don't feel guilty about what I did. I would do it all over again." He paused for a moment, looking down at his hands as he put away dishes. "I do feel bad for hurting her, though."

it was nice to feel like she wasn't an outsider, that there was someone else in the world that didn't like to sunbath either. she only spent time outside as it was better than being cooped up inside her bedroom. "well, it is refreshing to hear that."she spoke softly, fingers rubbing against freshly drawn lines. "and i don't know what i'm drawing...i just let my mind draw whatever. it's not until i'm finished i can see what it is."

and this is why she had been avoiding william. she didn’t want to have this conversation at all and maybe she hoped that she could’ve brushed past it without having to talk about it or maybe she wanted longer to work out her true feelings. she just felt so angry, that a fire burned through every single bit of her veins. maybe she hoped before they had this conversation that her emotions would be intact. “it was selfish. So very fucking selfish.” but, at least her mother didn’t have to burry another daughter in a grave. at least she was walking the earth and had chances that el didn’t have. eyes prickling and fighting the tears from fallen down her cheeks and all she wanted was the ground to swallow her up. “I honestly thought you were better than that, to accept my word as my own and to follow it.” she spoke, barely in a whisper as her eyes looked at the waves. the tiniest movement that most people’s eyes couldn’t see, she could see clearly as day. “just tell me why, why you did it? why you decided to turn me.” a pause for a moment that felt like a lifetime before her gaze turned back to William. “i just need to understand…and I couldn’t hate you..i could never hate you, like I could never hate nikolas for what he did to el..” it seemed that the hildegard and the mikaelsons were always surrounded by death some how. “but i need time, time..because this is all too much and a shit storm and i want to be angry at someone..and maybe I shouldn’t be angry at you..but i can’t stop feeling so angry at you.”

Despite his aversion to expressing his feelings and emotions, William had always been a very blunt and straightforward type of guy. He never really cared for pleasantries or beating around the bush. Even when it was difficult for him to express his thoughts, he never shied away or lied about how he was feeling. Yet another trait he inherited from both of his parents - his unabashed honesty. "I know it was." He wasn't going to blame her for being angry at him. It was selfish of him to change her against her will, but much like other members of his family, he acted impulsively and did what was best for himself. It wasn't something he regretted. He'd rather be having this conversation than consoling himself at the foot of Mau's grave. "I did it because I didn't want to live without you. There's no other reason." It was so simple, yet so complicated. "I can't take back what I did, and I wouldn't take it back even if I was given a chance to do things over. Saving you is something I'll never regret or apologize for. But hurting you? I'm sorry." He sighed at the mention of his brother, nodding his head. "I understand.. But that's not really possible right now. I almost lost you once, and with what's going on around here lately.. I'm not going to lose you again. And if that means not letting you out of my sight, then so be it. You can be angry all you want, but I'm going to keep you alive."

most girls would be thankful that the person they loved had saved them. she should be thankful that she had a chance to live, a second chance that her older sister never had. that william sacrificed everything to do so, he sacrificed the trust they had to give her a second life. she should be grateful for it all, but it came at a cost. everything heightened to a thousand, including her emotions. she loved him, she would always love william and maybe that was why she had avoided him for so long. to lock herself away from the world while she tried to understand what was going on. “fine let’s talk.” an almost snap to her tone, chocolate brown gues resting on him. “and it’s not just you I’ve been avoiding, it’s been the whole world.” a pause for a moment, god she wished the water had taken her away. That the water had drifted her off to the ocean. “you betrayed me. yes, we made that pact when we hoped I would pass a lot older but…what you did was wrong. you did it without thinking and yet, what you expect me to come to you with open arms and tell you a massive thank you?”she had to let the anger go, after all, she couldn’t say if roles were reverse that she wouldn’t of gone against his wishes.

it was a conversation that needed to be had, and yet, william was still unprepared for it. he knew that he had messed up. he had acted selfishly, putting his own feelings and wants before mau's. he had no right to take that choice away from her. despite all of that, he couldn't bring himself to feel sorry for it. he was sorry that he had broken her trust, that he had hurt her and had possibly damaged their relationship beyond repair, but he wasn't sorry for saving her. "i understand that i hurt you.. that i went against your wishes and made a selfish decision." he swallowed, his eyes still lingering on the waves before them. "i don't expect you to forgive me for what i did. i don't expect things to automatically go back to how they used to be. i'm.. i'm sorry for hurting you and breaking your trust. for betraying you." he finally pulled his gaze away from the water, looking at mau intently, his blue eyes unwavering. "but i'm not going to apologize for doing what i could to make sure you're still walking this earth. i'd rather have you alive and hating me than to never see your face again."

As the vibrant streets of New Orleans hummed with the music of jazz bands and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, Maddison found solace in a cozy corner of Jackson Square. With her sketchbook in one hand and a tattered notebook of poetry in the other, she felt the creative energy of the city seep into her soul. The swaying branches of ancient oak trees whispered inspiration to her as she delicately captured the essence of the bustling French Quarter in intricate sketches and heartfelt verses. Amidst the chaos of the city, Maddison's art and poetry became her sanctuary, a reflection of her innermost dreams and musings. Unbeknownst to her, another figure, a mysterious stranger with a curious glint in their eye, quietly sat next to her, attempting to subtly catch Maddison's attention with a hesitant cough. "Oh sorry did you want something?" she asked while closing her book and looked up to see who want her attention.

"I didn't know that you were into art." William's voice was laced with surprise - pleasant surprise. He considered himself to be somewhat of an artist. Ever since he was a child and could hold a pencil in hand, he'd been drawing. And drawing had turned into painting, sculpting and everything in between. He enjoyed all medias of art, but his favorite would always be a pencil and paper. The sketchbook he held in his own hand would be testament to that. He cocked his head to the side. "Do you mind if I take a look at your creations?" He held up his own book. "Trade for trade?" A slight smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"really? thank you, i appreciate that." cassidy's smile was wide and appreciative as she reached for the fruit, picking it up and placing it in the small carrying basket she held on her arm. "i love tomatoes. they're probably my favorite vegetable to cook with." she paused for a second, sucking her teeth. "or maybe i should say fruit?" the woman chuckled under her breath, shaking her head slightly. "it's such an odd concept. most people consider these to be vegetables, you know?" she looked down at the tomato in her basket, before looking back to gabriela. "are you just doing a little grocery shopping, or are you shopping for ingredients for a special meal?" she asked conversationally, always the one to make small talk.

william felt the corners of his mouth twitch upwards into a slight smile before his face fell back into its usual neutral expression, his knees bending so he could kneel down to help josie collect the papers that scattered to the ground. "sorry," he murmured, glancing up at her with an apologetic expression. he had been headed towards the museum for a few hours of alone time around his favorite thing - art. a trait that he had picked up from his father. he could spend hours browsing through the art exhibits - even the ones he had already seen before.

"Just me," Cassidy announced her presence as soon as Ollie called out to her, pushing through the foliage with a frown on her lips. She had never really enjoyed being in the bayou - too many bugs, too much mud, too earthy for her liking. She glanced down at her heeled boots, her face scrunching up at the mud caked on them, before she shook her head and continued forward towards her brother. "I can't believe you like spending so much time out here. The bugs are a menace," she grumbled under her breath, hesitantly settling herself down beside him near the water. "What are you doing out here by yourself?" She asked, her eyes lingering on the trickling water for a moment, before shifting towards the other.

Even after spending the entirety of her life seeing the French Quarter and exploring everything it had to offer, Cassidy still found herself enamored by the liveliness of it all. It never failed to bring her a sense of excitement. All of the different people; the citizens, the tourists. She could quite literally feel the energy in the air, and it was like she was feeding on it. It gave her energy, in a sense. She was enjoying her day off like she usually would - taking a walk through the quarter. It wasn't until she spotted a familiar figure that she smiled, quickly making her way over to them to grab their attention. Her fingers lightly tapped against Charlie's shoulder, and she gave him a playful look when he turned around. "What's up man? I think your favorite cousin deserves a better greeting than that," she joked, gently pushing at his shoulder. "Where you headed, Charlie boy? Need a buddy?"

the bayou was somewhere that william had surprisingly spent quite a bit of time throughout his childhood and adolescence. due to his werewolf heritage and the fact that a lot of his relatives and extended family carried the wolf gene, it was no surprise that he spent a lot of time there. there was a part of him that liked it though. it was familiar to him - comfortable. the perfect area for him to trek through and get lost in his thoughts. taking walks had become a more common occurrence for william ever since he had activated his tribrid status. it had been one of the only few things that brought him a sense of ease and relaxation. the sound of movement a few yards away caught his attention, and before he could stop himself, he found his feet moving towards the noise. he quickly came across the maison madison shed, a familiar face moving about inside. "mr. lockwood," he greeted politely, giving him a slight nod. "what are you working on?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
