I hope my audience walks away from this film understanding that humor and laughter is more of a complex concept than originally thought. It is something that is essential and unique to human beings, yet its importance and complexity are equally unrecognized. I believe the topic is important to everyone because everyone laughs, yet laughter is almost an unconscious process like our heartbeat that we take it for granted and do not put in the time to fully appreciate its value. 

De-Humorize is a documentary film which aims to decode the mystery that is humor through discussing and refuting theories and ultimately arriving to one conclusion of inconclusivity. 

I have crafted the entire documentary around this idea that we cannot define humor. I am taking the viewer through a series of theories that attempt to explain humor, yet negate each one to eventually show that the concept is nearly undefinable and that trying to define it could hurt the magic or the humor itself.
