so apparently you can hide Nazis on Twitter by setting your location results to Germany or France because Twitter is legally required to remove Nazi content there, so Twitter always had the ability to remove Nazis, they just choose not to

Don’t forget they literally came out and said if they filtered nazis like they do in Germany and France the algorithm wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between nazis and republican congressmen.

I absolutely get what you're saying but as a German I have to say Germany does a great job in acting like it takes responsibility and hiding the Nazis by pretending they're not there, which is also helping them. We got so many cases of Nazis in the police and most of them can go on with their job. We got Nazi underground groups like the NSU or Nordkreuz who killed people or planned on doing so, and the police and Verfassungsschutz do an awful job at busting them. The Verfassungsschutz pays Nazis and destroyed evidence on the NSU and their connections with them etc. It's not as open as it might be in the USA and thanks to our laws restricting the possession and use of weapons it's not as easy to kill many people at once here, but we still got Nazi terrorists and a Nazi party in the Bundestag and conservatives deeming them as the same as leftists etc

i mean, maybe this is my inner “survivor of child abuse” talking, but I am not going to tell abusive parents that they’re bad at bringing up their children without a bullet proof plan with regards to how I could protect my student from the emotional and physical backlash of that meeting.

Important thing to remember about intervening in abuse in general. Any actions taken by others to hold the abuser accountable WILL be taken out on the victim and not the person doing the confronting. Do not confront an abuser about their actions unless you know for absolute certain that you can protect their victim from the fallout.

can we stop pretending that doctors treat everyone equally and that they don’t have prejudices towards poc, lesbians/gays/bisexuals, trans people, fat people, people of a certain religion, poor people/people on benefits etc and that it actually stops people from getting a diagnosis and/or treatment. stop acting like people with chronic pain, mental illness or other medical issues can just “go see a doctor” and get all the help and diagnosis’s that they need.
