I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.

Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.

All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.

After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.

It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.

And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.

The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.

Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.

ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.

Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.

this was just the beginning of the harassment, though. CC additionally used her friend heidi, a lawyer, to send cease & desist letters and other forms of legal harassment against ppl. none of it would hold up in court and these sort of things weren't even heidi's area of expertise as a lawyer, but it still happened.

CC was such a terrible serial harasser that people started to leave her alone about the plagiarism stuff after a while because it was just not worth her blowing up your entire spot. not just with her lawyer, but with her minions who harassed targets on her behalf. getting a deluge of harassment is a horrible experience that hurts people, so of course people tried to avoid it.

i hate CC because she hurt lots of people. she did it intentionally, repeatedly, and with singular focus on covering her own ass no matter who she hurt.

Before I get into that comparison, I want to make something clear. I didn't like the introduction of a slave-master narrative into the unholy family dynamic. The racial implications made me uncomfortable. However, discomfort and offense are not the same thing. While I found it unsettling, I did not find it racist or anti-Black, and that's the key distinction.

This is not to say that feeling anger is abusive; it's human to feel anger. But if you've ever felt like your anger was "unjustified" or were afraid to express it outwardly because you expected it to be dismissed ... ask yourself how you would react if the roles were reversed. I find that a lot of folks who were The Grown Up in a relationship with their parents hold themselves to much different standards than they hold other people.

The more I read about the seance, the more horrific it seems.

With Adam O’Byrne in the Backstage Pass referring to it as Loustat “dealing with the problem” and with Jacob in the After Dark saying Louis’ arc this season has been about humbling himself, and now with Sam’s words here. It really does seem like the biggest narrative reason behind the seance is to whack Louis down so he would be open to getting back with Lestat. That that is the primary intention behind the scene. That Louis has…. been too uppity by refusing to get back with one of his abusers, so the narrative uses Claudia to beat Louis down enough so that he would.

(By the way this is not me coming at Sam or at Jacob. They’re only explaining how they were likely directed to treat the scene.)

Both Loustat abused Claudia, but Lestat abused both Louclaudia. So, in what way does the seance “even” the playing field? How does it “deal with the problem”? Because they were both horrible to Claudia? What about Lestat being horrible to Louis? Why does Louis need to be “humbled” into re-entering a relationship with one of his past abusers, who hasn’t shown much change since that period of their lives?

Season 3 was supposed to be about getting to know Lestat and contextualizing who he is. He, understandably, hasn’t come anywhere close to growing as a person yet. I was prepared to not get any real Loustat (outside of Dreamlou) until Season 4. But they’re already seeming to come back together. Am I supposed to be happy about this, or am I supposed to be alarmed?

As they are now, Louis is the only one who’s actually grown since their lives on Rue Royale. Is the implication here that Louis was the problem when they were together? And now that Louis has changed, Loustat have a chance again?

This only makes sense if you interpret S1 Loustat as either A) the “mutual abuse” myth or B) not abusive at all and Louis’ pride being the biggest issue in their relationship.

Season 1 was clear on Lestat’s patriarchal / marital abuse and Season 2 only reinforced that. So this switch to the 2 options I listed above make no sense. How do you give us the Santiago-Lestat meta criticism that abuse shouldn’t be excused, only to arrive to shaming a victim?

UNLESS they’re trying to pull a “Lestat doesn’t view himself as having abused Louis” and that’s why this is all coming off like this, since it’s from his POV. Why Louis has been saying sorry nonstop and why he’s been getting whacked so much. That the writing is saying that Lestat, himself, views the only wrong that deserved apologizing for was the drop.

And, alarmingly, this actually makes sense if you interpret Lestat as being truthful and not lying (like I had assumed he was!) the multiple times he’s said he did something to punish Louis & make him miserable for not being happy with him. That would actually fall in line with Louis’ treatment this season. That the “Louis humiliation ritual” could, terrifyingly, be a continuation of that given this has all been from Lestat’s POV.

But if this is the intention, then it just frames all of Loustat’s romance this season as nothing but a horror story. As a Lestat who hasn’t really changed and a Louis forever stuck in a cycle of abuse.

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*
