Dr. Hannibal Lecter . . . the title never grew old for the man. It was only fitting with his appearance. Three-piece suits in ever-changing patterns and expensive materials. A pocket square, a nice tie, genuine leather shoes. His hair was particularly manicured, not a piece out of place. His house, his office, his car – they all echoed the title of “Dr”. As for how he arrived to such a prestigious life? That was a different story.
It was now, years later, that the doctor faced his past fully, ready to right some wrongs. He had always felt a little guilty about his twin brother. He had abandoned him with their abusive father in order to save himself. He longed for a better life, and he decided to take it upon himself, no matter the consequence that Nigel faced. Ultimately, his brother turned into a rash criminal, acting more on impulse rather than on cool calculation. And it was now that Hannibal wished to fix it all. If he could refine Nigel, mentor him, teach him the ways of serial murder, perhaps he could retract that guilt.
The decision had been made, the hand extended, and Dr. Lecter stuck by it. And when the doorbell rang, Hannibal had been waiting, anticipating the moment when the dings would echo through his house. His preparation carried him to the door, swiftly, and he opened it with a subtle smile. There stood Nigel Lecter, the man he had been waiting for. His twin brother.
“Hello, Nigel.”

Dr. Lecter’s eyes were directed at the ground, but he heard the voice as it approached. The sunglasses hid him well, but answer he must. His tongue slid languidly behind his teeth, a viper ready to snap. The doctor tilted his chin upwards ever-so-slowly, taking in the newcomer inch-by-inch.
"Hello,” he began, his voice dripping like honey, “How can I help you?” It was only now that he reached up and pushed off his glasses, revealing his dark maroon eyes -- the viper coming out to play once more.

There was a time in Dr. Hannibal Lecter’s life where common courtesy was a proclivity unlearned. But now, it remained a creature of habit. Whether it be a door opened for another, or a flick on the corner of his lips, he tried to remain fair until rendered unnecessary by rudeness. And his customs rang true in his current state.
The doctor eyed the young man with care, listening to him speak. Hannibal had been an acquaintance of Adam’s father in a time long past, and understood the young mans peculiarities. Given his profession, it was only given that he could understand something. The doctor tilted his head in curiosity, “Adam, forgive me, but I’m just curious. What is out there past the Milky Way? More galaxies?” The doctor knew of Adam’s vast knowledge of space, and he prompted him to tell him more.

Nigel had been on a ‘business trip’ to Florence a couple of weeks ago and since then, he thought about his older twin brother more often. Strangely enough, the place just reminded him of Hannibal. He vaguely remembered Hannibal talk about it was one of his favorite cities. Except that and knowing he was a practicing psychiatrist, he didn’t know about his brother much. They parted their ways when they were very young and now he was here, to talk with his big bro.
"So where the hell are we going? A bar? A pub? Your house?"
The doctor examined his options silently. His house seemed to be the best route. Besides, his brother could probably use a shower -- who knew what injury he was hiding now. There was a time in their youth when they first came to America that Hannibal had to carefully practice his newly learned stitching skills on the other man. That was about the time that they separated, Hannibal leaving his twin brother to fend for himself, and the doctor finding success in many places. Frankly, he’d known little of Nigel following that incident, so his sudden appearance was odd.
“We can have some drinks at my home. I am sure that would suit you perfectly well, Nigel.”
Innocent blue eyes glanced up at him, she looked like she was expecting to be yelled at, dark hair almost attempted to obscure them from view but her eyes were instead her most prominent feature.
“Aurelie, um…Aurelie Gilbert. I um…nice to meet you Dr. Lecter…” She paused “Might I ask what you’re a doctor of?” She took the offered hand, though she looked at first like she didn’t know what to do with it.
For a moment, the doctor was caught off guard, her bright eyes a stark contrast to his own, deep, maroon. She reminded him of a young Mischa Lecter and a lost Will Graham all at once. The frailty of his lost sister gave him pause, but only momentarily, for was she not a pawn in this world, too.
“It is nice to meet you as well, Miss Aurelie Gilbert,” her name managed to come out fluently, although altered slightly with the doctors lingering Lithuanian accent. After shaking hands, Hannibal tucked his hands into his pockets, “I am a doctor of psychiatry.”

// What?! I’m on two days in a row?! Must be warming up outside. Haha, in other news, I can’t guarantee if, and when, I’ll be on in the coming week. I kind of pack my weeks full of real life stuff nowadays. So I may or may not be on next week. Next weekend is my birthday, so I may have plans again. BUT, fear not, because the following week is spring break, so I will check in a time or two then, throw some replies around. That being said, I’m pretty focused on my grades right now. My coming back here is not going to be a time-consuming thing, nor will it be a priority. Coming back is in order for me to check up on my creative writing, and spend some quality time with like-minded individuals. The internet is kinda toxic, which I clearly see now after spending mass amounts of time away from it. So don’t expect me to become enveloped in it again. Anyway. That being said. I have very little in the area of plans CURRENTLY, but it is sure to change. My activity will pick up once it is summer!
"I wanted to have a drink with my big brother, if you don’t fucking mind, of course."
Nigel didn’t really like his older twin brother, but he had a sincerity in that he wanted to reconcile with his brother. Have few drinks, talk things out and get to know the sibling better. He had imagined how the conversation will unfold several times, but the ending always has eluded him. It was time to find out.
Hannibal nods slowly, staring at the younger man for a long moment. What brought Nigel here now was what confused the doctor; after all this time? It wasn’t that he hated his brother, he just felt he had little in common with the man. His actions reminded him of that of some of his patients, and even of Mason Verger. Nigel had a tendency to be on the rude side, and that much set Hannibal on edge.
“Certainly...” he began, eyeing Nigel carefully, “A drink. I am sure that would be fine, assuming, of course, it will not be at a bar.” While Hannibal felt a little off about inviting Nigel into his home, it felt better than sitting in filth in a public bar. Besides, Hannibal could protect himself.
"Hello, brother."
Hannibal manages to only grimace slightly at the sound of his brothers voice. As disapproving as he is of his lifestyle choice, he knows it can only be assumed from their upbringing, and besides that -- Nigel was still his brother. As much as you disliked your family, they were still your family, especially your twin. Hannibal turned to see him standing nearby, “Nigel,” he says, his voice sounding with surprise.
She jumped a bit at the sound of the others voice, she seemed the type rabbit like person who jumped whenever someone spoke, specifically a man.
“Hello there.” She said giving him her best smile.
She was a curiosity, and was that not all that Dr. Lecter was seeking in life? He was like a collector, but he collected those poor unstable souls in his palm, swirling them ever so gently, ever so gently... until he had subtly stirred their insides and they forgot all that they once were.
He tilted his head ever so slightly, offering his hand to shake, “I’m Dr. Lecter. And might I ask your name?”
They claimed he would get lost in whimsy, but Hannibal Lecter was not lost. He was merely strolling, his focus still pure, but his pace much slower. He was careful and calculative, and he knew which steps were loose, and where he would find his foothold. Perhaps for this fact, his whimsy was much more dangerous.
Hannibal Lecter slips into a smile, "Hello."

Weakness always remained momentary in Dr. Lecter's life. It rarely showed its face, and when it did, the glimpse was subtle. The woman rarely lost composure, which she was rather thankful of. And even now, even though much had happened, her head was clear, and she felt as if nothing had happened. However, this much was a lie. Dr. Du Maurier could attest to that fact, considering she received the worst of it. Nevertheless, Hannibal had merely been attempting to help. All she had wanted to do was save her colleague. Of course, she had been the one to put Bedelia in the situation; the danger had only been a delightful surprise, opposed to a calculative plan.
The knock at the door startled Dr. Lecter, and she turned to go answer it. She already knew who it was, given the previous evenings events. And Hannibal had already pulled out a bottle of wine, waiting for her company. Opening the door, she tilted her head to look at the other woman, "Hello."
