A mate of mine got this sweet ride, a Honda Ruckus. He bought it stock but after a long night of us tinkering in the garage and sucking down a few Rogue “Dead Guy” ales, out popped this beast — 50cc’s of pure mayhem. The Ruckus Ratpack was born that night, and more high-speed mods were to follow. I did this sticker a little bit later.

I designed a microapp (a web-based app platform that is fast and convenient) for a recent Google Day. We then took the cover and animated it so that when you open the app, this is the imagery you are greeted by. Thanks Rick Sliwinski for taking my trees and animating them!

Avalaunch colleagues called for a LinkedIn banner to be created, so I designed these and they have been choosing the color combo that best matches their profile pic.

My boss at Avalaunch Media loves the movie “The Patriot” and cited this quote in a meeting. Aim small, aim at the button on the man, you might miss the button but you still hit the man. He applied it in a marketing context. I made him a little artwork for his desk. 

This “bank chic” mood board set the tone for a report project, the final product of which the client was very happy about. The mood board was a project exploration covering design elements including color palettes, negative space, typography, and chart and iconography styles. 

I used to draw these stripes on my shoes at school. Never did grow out of it.

I’m fortunate that at Avalaunch Media, I get to keep my hand in writing (pardon the pun) after starting my “first” career in journalism 17 years ago. The ultimate is to do the double, as I did on this piece: write AND design.
