[HeĀ doesnāt miss the spark, or lack thereof, in Jackās eyes. Perking up, Jamie moves backward towards his desk, holding out a hand in a āwait a minuteā sort of gesture.] Good! It was good! Wait, Iāoof, ow.
[Itās only after he stumbles over a pile of laundry and barely manages to catch himself on his chair that Jamie decides to takes his eyes off Jack while he walks across the room. Reaching his backpack and pulling it open, the teenager fumbles inside and removes a crumpled Christmas bag, which he folds out to theĀ GuardianĀ with a sheepish grin.]
Itās a little late now, butāMerry Christmas, Jack.
Are you okay?! [He forgets his sadness and overbearing loneliness for a moment for worry, cerulean hues quickly looking a scrape or wound or discomfort on the young manās face when he makes his way back. But the spirit finds himself switching worry for surprise, one hand reaching slowly for the bag as if he was unsure it was even there.]
IāJaime? Is that for me?Ā
[He still isnāt touching the bag though blue tinted finger tips were hovering uncertainly near it.]Ā
[Clearing his throat and running his free hand through chestnut hair in an attempt to look collected after the whole tripping incident, he gives Jack a terse nod, then breaks back into a helpless smile.]
Yeah, ācourse! [He pauses, embarrassment skittering across his expression.] I mean, only if you want it! I wasnāt sure what to get you because you move around so much, so, uh⦠Ā
[Reaching delicately into the bag, Jamie removes a silver chained necklace with an orb at the endācast between two silver brackets and filled with water and shimmery, white flecks, the pendant looks like the top of a snow globe.]
[He had watched him, Jackās eyes studying and following the lithe hand that teased through light brown hair, before he caught himself staring and casted his eyes back down at the bag at hand. His own embarrassment and wonder at being given a gift by Jaime had his cheeks frosting, a sweet baby blue hue easing into his otherwise porcelain like complexion.]
You didnāt have to, Jaime. [But he swallowed and held back the words he wanted to say so badly to him. Yes, he wanted yet. Yes, he wanted to have something that would remind him always of their bondāthe very first that Jack had after being resurrected as the guardian of fun and young manĀ winter. But the words turn to speechlessness when he sees what the young man actually got for him.]
Ohā [Breathlessly, heĀ reached for the necklace with gentle fingers.] Itās beautiful. Are you sure? To give it toĀ me? [Jack looked up, wonder and happiness brightening up his expression.]
[The wordless expression on Jackās face cast hopefulness onto Jamieās, and he cupped his hand underneath the spiritās chilled knuckles to guide the necklace into his open palm.]
I got it for you. [He assures, smiling in anticipation.] I know you donāt wear jewelry or anything, but I wanted it to be something you wouldnāt have to carry around. Er, I mean, you donāt have to wear it if you donāt want to, butābut.Ā
Do you like it?
Do I like it? IĀ love it! [And there was a second where Jack looked like the person he was before he learned of his responsibilities and the consequences of the things he had to do as a force of nature. He smiled, beaming and bright andĀ happy to the brim, at Jaime before turning around and placing the necklace back in the man's hand.]
Help me put it on?
[He didn't want to end up accidentally chilling the clasp in a hurry to get it on. And with this, he could at least have a moment to calm himself.]Ā
