18. ideal weather?

literally any time during the fall !! fall in the northeastern US is just so pretty. it’s the right temperature for both sweaters and t-shirts, so you have the Maximum Opportunity to look gay

27. favorite activity to do in cold weather?

sledding !! i take my niece and nephew to a big ass hill by their house and watch them crash into each other; it’s literally so funny

34. advertisements you have stuck in your head?

my hometown has the craziest fucking commercials for our local businesses, but i can’t think of any aside from those,, there’s a local furniture store with a dummy as their mascot and he has haunted my dreams since i was a child. he’s the creepiest thing ever

ooh, okay ! my playlists don’t really have names; they’re separated by genre. the only playlist that really has a name is titled ‘junior wheeler !’, which i’ve been listening to almost exclusively for the past few weeks

56. favorite tradition?

hm… my dad always makes pizza fritte on christmas morning, which is actually just little pieces of fried dough. it’s fun because my nephews, nieces, siblings and i always fight over the last piece

• it was the middle of the night. he was sobbing. the memories- the murder, his mother crashing through the windshield, every little thing his father said or did to encourage junior to further hide himself, to lie to himself -, they wouldn’t stop

• and junior just wanted to do something. he didn’t know what, but he couldn’t just sit there. his body was shaking with the need to do something, anything. he had felt these feelings before, during other panic attacks, during other times where he just felt Wrong, but this time he couldn’t bring himself to move

• he was stuck

• but just within his reach, there were sharpies, every color possible; lexy had brought caroline over for some time away from their mother. and junior loved caroline. he treated her as an equal, trying to make her feel like she could be her own person. he supported her, related to her, and was the big brother he himself had never had

• so, they’d colored a wooden christmas village with sharpies

• he grabbed a red, uncapped it, and scribbled on every other nail with it, then repeated those steps with the green

• it looked like shit, he knew it did, but at least he’d done something

• and it was his own choice! and it was something his father would have hated,, junior was finally growing into himself; junior was finally accepting himself, even if he didn’t know what that was yet

• let’s pretend richie got caught in the deadlights as a kid

• and how about we say an effect of being trapped in the deadlights is heterochromia, a sort of outward display of the internal damage

• (of course, bev has it too. her left eye is blue; her right is green)

• richie, once having brown eyes, now has one that’s such a pale blue that it’s almost grey, while the other is practically black

• and he hates it

• on bev, obviously, it’s striking. it’s beautiful. it looks as if it belongs.

• but on himself? he sees it as another example of how different, how wrong, how dirty, he feels. off balance, drawing unneeded attention, just making things harder for himself… like his feelings for a certain someone- a certain someone he could never tell about said feelings

• but eddie loves it

• it’s yet another thing about richie that he can’t help but love; he loves how different his best friend (and secret crush) is. those startling- dazzling - eyes are an outward example of each of richie’s traits that he’s so fond of (,,and maybe that’s all of them)

• one day, about two years after That Summer, they’re fifteen. Richie expresses his thoughts about his eyes. they’re sitting in the Tozier’s attic, comfortable in bean bag chairs and surrounded by fairy lights, when richie slams down his book and starts rambling

• about how he hates himself for his eyes. about how he hates himself for how his eyes make him feel. how his eyes make him feel dirty; they make him feel sick, ashamed.. that his eyes would make everything harder on his parents if they knew (that’s where eddie catches on), how they’d worry, maybe even hate him for his goddamn eyes

• and eddie knows exactly how he feels; he knows exactly what richie is really talking about. maybe he hasn’t experienced this in the exact same way, and maybe he doesn’t have the exact same fears, but he knows.

• so, he shuffles over to richie’s bean bag and draws him into a hug. they’ve hugged before, of course, but this is different. with this hug, it’s almost as if they’re speaking without words,, and they each know, finally, about each other’s secret

• (but not about their feelings for one another; that comes the following year)

• this is the type of man to have every single aspect of his life planned; he wanted to graduate high school early, ditch his, as he probably assumed, deadbeat family, to make his way up in the world of track, then marry a woman he could force to stay at home while he worked. he wanted to live wealthily and completely free of responsibility.

• basically, he just wanted control.

• but bree had always wanted a child to feel loved like she had never been. and they discussed that, but logan never really thought it would happen.

• and then it did. and then logan needed to be responsible.

• never once did he help bree; she had to decorate the nursery herself, as well as care for him entirely on her own until logan gave in and hired annie

• logan even showed up to the hospital after junior’s birth because he had ‘a more pressing work engagement’

• so he never loved junior; the kid was just another task. but then he realized: he could live through junior, force him into the life of track, the life of popularity, that he believed his son to have ruined for him.

• logan thought that junior owed this to him, so he felt no guilt. he felt pride, but not in junior. he felt pride in himself for finding a loophole in this life he’d never wanted

Jake and Junior Wheeler just getting to be kids, basically; God knows they deserve it, man.

After being absolutely forced to eat two cups of jello, Junior knew he had to retaliate. The more logical and calculating of the two cousins, he had to think of something perfect; so, like his cousin, he had watched every single episode of the office to find the perfect pay-back prank.

Junior had always loved more abstract things, though he’d never been able to embrace those interests. Music, literature, philosophy…

he uses scrunchies s o much he (almost) always has one nd his favorite one is one that looks like his cat, skittles, that he found at claire's

i am 1000% certain that he has the scrunchies organized; he’s stylish, so they’re in little boxes by rainbow order. and i’ve been notified by my nephew that middle school boys wear their gf’s scrunchies on their wrists, so it is now Canon that eddie wears one of richie’s.

also ! his hair in a bun with a pencil or pen,, hot english major vibes. maybe arts. personally, i believe that he would be a teacher because he loves kids and is a literature/art nerd. so… yeah, college richie with ink and paint smudged on his face, graphite on his palms, and eddie going absolutely feral for his nerdy bf.

• like, he would have run for class president in third grade and it would have just,,, stuck. y’know how it goes; you run for student council in elementary school and you stay in it (disclaimer: i was in no way a student council kid, but a few of my friends are)

• but it turns out that he’s perfect for the role- kind, understanding, good with people, always going going going

• and y’know how he feels expendable? it would give him a purpose he sees as concrete

• organizing pep rallies? he would absolutely have a megaphone during the relay race and be screaming for eddie

• (bill, soccer captain, gets an honorary mention from the megaphone because they’re besties)

• and community service !!! richie would definitely get more activities going for the environment and and food drives

• school dances,,, specifically prom? like this man would throw out the most outrageous idea, win the vote, and have it turn out absolutely amazing

• and his slogans?

• literally just memes

• or “don’t be shy, give Dick a try” (that one got taken down; his fans find it years later and have a goddamn field day with it)

went, who’s watching richie while maggie is at work, notices that the house has gone far too quiet

he makes his way up to his son’s room, laughing to himself at the many chaotic possibilities his darling child could have created

and when he opens the door, richie tosses everything aside and runs to hide behind his bean bag chair

went is confused, but, upon discovering the makeup, picks his son up and smiles

richie has made a mess of his face, but the idea is there; he’s spent hours studying maggie. he asks his father not to be mad

and that breaks went’s heart. he could never be mad at richie, not for anything, especially for trying out something new. and he tells him that, picking up the makeup and carrying him to the living room

“i don’t know much about makeup,” he tells his son, “but you’re an expert! how about you try it on me?”

and richie is absolutely beaming; he uncaps some eyeliner and gives an eager nod. this is the first time he realizes he’s loved unconditionally, the first time he understands the concept, but even at five years old, he knows it won’t be the last time

the work he does on went’s face is only slightly better than his own, but when maggie returns from work, unnoticed by her boys, she falls in love with them all over again

and, years later, perhaps when richie is eighteen, he’s at it again; he and eddie are visiting from college in california. went, noticing richie’s makeup, asks him to do it for him as well
