There is more for me out there

“I quite agree.” he signed smiling. “I think we have enough hazards back home.” he signed. Tobias stopped his hands about to sign when he lowered them for a moment, eyes suddenly softening his eyebrows furrowed in thought. “Im.. Im alright, Why do you ask?” he signed with a smile to assure his friend he was okay with the question.

He frowned at his friend’s blatant lie. Kai had been asking, and Tobias had been avoiding to answer. As patient as Kai was, and as much as he respected Tobias’s respect, this was getting frustrating. “You just seem off. You know you can trust me with anything right?”

“That’s an excellent point. I know there are others from the fourth book.. He signed tilting his head. "I’m not sure, granted I have yet to finish all the books of this series..” he signed. “Some things just seem absurd.. perhaps a teacher there.. but I don’t think I could be a student, ” he signed with a smile.

“It seems like a very hazardous place to learn,” Kai signed as he spoke. “How have you been feeling, mate?” He asked, clearly concerned.

“You think we’d go to a different wizarding school since we’re from a different part of Europe?”

“No I was only joking. Stay as long as you like.” He signed smiling. “It seems when you receive two concussions you need many.. and they all taste horrible.” He signed chuckling. “It’s alright, I should stand..thank you.” He continued. Normally if he were back he would have to keep his concussion a secret, even if it was a small headache no one could know, but Kai was his friend and roommate, and so he trusted him, a small smile formed on his face as he grabbed the counter for support. “Yes I’ve heard.” He signed nodding.

Kai frowned when he noticed his friend was almost adamant in keeping something from him. But he was a man who respected boundaries, so he sat back and frowned with his brows furrowed at his friend. “She’s uh-- I care about her a lot,” he went on with the topic about Carson so that they shifted the topic away from  whatever Tobias was hiding.

“No.. I don’t need anything.” she nodded softly, gazing over his expression with a soft smile. She was feeling incredibly happy, and obviously nervous, and something that happened when she got anxious was she began to ramble. Before she could stop herself, her mouth opened and the words came out. “It’s ridiculous, I know you wouldn’t.. But I just have this fear you’re gunna jump aboard and ship and sail away. Though, I’m pretty sure none of us are going anywhere, because we are all stuck, and I know that you care alot about me..” she started to say inhaling a large breath. “If we get out of here, are you going to travel again?” she asked, though she struggled to get her words out because she felt like her throat was slowly tightening.

The expressions on her face flashed quickly but he was looking closely enough to notice each one. Happy. Nervous. And then all of a sudden she looked unsure. His heart sunk as he tried not to think that she was having second thoughts about them. But he listened to her, hoping his fears weren’t true. He couldn’t help but smile. He pursed his lips and tried not to show his smile though. “Here or there, I promise never to leave you.” He looked her in the eyes. “If we come back home, and I will not go anywhere without you. I did think of that. If we appeared back where we were, I will take you out in the world with me. I know it’s ill luck to have a lady in the ship. But I’ll take bad luck over not being with you. That is, with the permission of your mother and if you’d let me? If not, I will stay in Arendelle with you if that means I will stay by your side for as long as you want me there.”

“After a while.” He signed jokingly. He shook his head biting the inside of his lip when pain struck, sharp and all over I’m okay. Just a little headache.“ He signed slowly, "it has been a while. What have you been up to?” He signed smiling kindly.

“If it is time for me to leave, so I shall. Just say the word,” he smirked. Although he was only jesting, he wasn’t completely lying either. The last thing Kai wanted was to be a burden, and if he was in any way. he wasn’t likely to stick around. “You need medicine for that? I can go grab you some,” he signed to his friend. “Also would you like some tea to soothe you?” he offered. Kai shrugged, smiling softly, not sure if he should tell him about what was going on between him and Carson. “Well, I’ve been hanging out with Carson lately?”

It had been a little while since she’d felt his touch, in any way– it was odd, but in a good way how he managed to effect her so even with the slightest word or action. He always did make her quite nervous when she was younger, she was just always so very good at hiding it, luckily her powers didn’t go out of control around him either. Her eyes fluttered over his face as he spoke, her heartbeat was beginning to accelerate, her lips pursed, she felt like she was holding her breath almost. “I missed you too.” she spoke so softly, a small smile beginning to tug at the corner of her lips. “It’s strange, that we’ve been apart for so long.. That when you’re here.. I.. Don’t really want you to leave.” she admitted and shrugged softly, looking back at him as she gently bit her lower lip. 

He leaned in and kissed the corner of her lips for a brief moment before he pulled back. As much as he loved having her lips against his, they had the whole night to themselves. So instead, he took her hand in his and gave him a reassuring smile when he noticed she seemed nervous about the date-- even though he was too. “We have a lot to make up for, sunshine. Today is the first day of many we will share, I promise.” He nodded toward the doorway. “Shall we go or will you be needing a few more things?”

“Your conscience would be okay with leaving me out on the streets?” He teased. A look of concern appeared on his face as Tobias sat down appearing to be troubled. “Maybe I’ll ask for help another time. I feel like we haven’t caught up in a while.”

“You got this buddy, if you need any help just let me know.”

He gave a small smile to the woman. “I think I am starting to get a hang of it. I just have a lot to learn, still. It gets frustrating sometimes.”

“I won’t even bother counting the favors you have done for me. The list would be too long.” Kai shook his head. “I’m confident I’ll figure it out sooner or later. Hopefully sooner than later.”

“Would you like me to show you?” Tobias signed smiling

Kai looked up from his phone to his roommate, “I mean, you’ve done everything else for me. I was hesitant to ask.”

The blonde stared back at her reflection in the mirror, turning herself on her heel to glance at herself from another angle, and frowned a little trying her best to decide if she approved with her appearance. She was feeling increasingly nervous– almost like it was escalating by the second, considering not too long from now, Kai would be at her front door, ready to pick her up for their first date. She had changed her outfit, atleast five times– putting her hair up then back down again– keeping it straight then curling it in the end, changing her shoes from heels to flats, then back to heels. Coming to the conclusion she was overthinking, she shook her head, ignoring all the worries she was having which was suddenly distracted by the gentle knock. 

He hesitated to let go of the plant, intending to put it down himself. But she seemed almost adamant to get the load off of him. He smiled as she placed it down in her living room. He was still trying to figure out how she still managed to look elegant in her dress while setting down the pot-- it wasn’t very light. He approached her when she turned to him, a smile gracing his lips and his eyes spoke volumes of how happy he was to see her. He dusted off her dress with the back of his hand, careful not to violate her privacy still. He looked up at her placed a kiss on her forehead, caressing her cheek lightly. “I’ve missed you. I know it hasn’t been that long but I missed you.”

“What’s a text message?” Ranse asked tilting his head in curiosity.

“It’s like an electronic letter sent via cellular phone,”

“It’s pretty simple actually. You just pick up the telephone, press the button with the green picture on it, and put the other person’s telephone number in! And if you don’t want to make that call, you hit the button with the red picture on it and it stops!” Ranse replied proudly, having just learned how to use a telephone himself.

“No I figured the calling part out,” he nodded, “although I don’t know how to save the numbers in my contacts or send text messages.”
