So I think that when I come back, I’m going to be hitting the REFRESH button, as it were. It’s time for a little reboot, so I’ll be archiving this blog & starting anew (it’ll be the same url).

“Oh c’mon Sansa. I know your mom and dad won’t agree to let you come but … you’re telling me you NEVER sneak out?” Nancy asked skeptically, pressing the party invitation more insistently into her friend’s hands. Thanks to the Starks’ insistence on private schooling, keeping their children as far removed from the Hawkins social scene as humanly possible, Nancy doubted that Sansa had EVER experienced the likes of a high school party. The kegs, the questionable mixed drinks, the boys making drunken idiots out of themselves and the girls falling all over themselves to impress them. Not that Nancy was all that interested in ANY of the people at those things anymore, preferring the quiet company of Jonathan and his books to the loud and blurry memories she had of last Halloween. But it was a rite of passage, something Sansa should do before they both reached college age and got swept off into the ADULT world. Hell, Sansa had practically been an adult her whole life - she deserved to be a little irresponsible. 

“If it’s totally lame we can leave early. But this is the LAST big party before graduation and you should see it. C’mon, please? Jonathan won’t go near this thing with a ten foot pole and I need an ally.” 

“It’s not that I NEVER sneak out, it’s just--I never really had a reason to. I’m not close with anyone from my school, and you know how people from your school look at me. Like I’m an alien or something.” Sansa laughed softly, “You’re the only one I can be NORMAL with.” Sansa knew the preps and prisses she went to school with had parties - not that she intended to generalize the population of her school that way, she knew they weren’t ALL bad, but she didn’t feel like being a part of that world all the time. IN ANY CASE, she knew most of the party invites she received were based simply upon who her family was, not who SHE was, so she never attended them. As risky as sneaking out would be, it was starting to sound pretty good, though she had to admit she was skeptical that Nancy’s friends would allow her a night of teenage normalcy. She would always be a Stark in this town, and to most of its residents, that meant WEALTHY and ELUSIVE, not “one of the gang.”
