Reality is a Dream

"Someone with way too much time on their hands."

     ”I—I need to fix it somehow; 

It took Clovis a minute to fully understand what the other camper was implying. "And you want me to be the distraction." 

❝ And this advice is coming from an expert I hope? ❞

"I guess I could be considered an expert at this. I've never had to participate in an obstacle course yet... Well, there was that one time, but I don't think it really counts."

"Annabeth, man! Annabeth!" He ducked behind the camper, avoiding making eye contact with the blond counselor.

"Oh. Okay?" He jumped slightly when Leo hid behind him. 

"Don't tell who it was what?" 

"That’s true. I, on the other hand, have not been so lucky in the sleep department. I envy you."

"Trouble with sleep?" His eyes lit up. "If you want I could help. It's kind of my specialty."

❝ Is the obstacle course a must? Because I am more than happy to just sit here and watch. ❞

"If you sit behind a group of loud people, avoid eye contact and don't make any sudden movements, you're pretty much guaranteed to not be chosen."

"You know, usually I’d say that a good rest is healthy but in your case… I’d go for the food," she said, almost carefully snapping her fingers in front of his nose. "I was kidding, but that gratitude is what I do it for. Makes all the suffering and smuggling past harpies worth it." 

He snickered quietly. "Yeah, I guess you're right... Wait- You snuck past the harpies? For some food." He shook his head slightly. "You do know what they can do to people right?"

You’re gonna ditch me for more sleep? Come on, you do enough of that. Let’s go do something more exciting.

"Do something exciting? With me? Man you really must be bored. The most exciting thing I've ever done is... Gods I don't even remember."

"I wake up everyday trying to find it, more like."

"I probably just got lucky being in the Hypnos cabin. It's the literal definition of serenity." 

"That sounds like quite the existence."

"Well y'know... It could be worse I guess. I usually see more in dreams than I could ever see around here."

"Good, because you shouldn’t take that threat lightly." Clarisse looked towards the area that Clovis had gesture to. "Why don’t you go and work on that."

"Yeah.... I'm going to go do that now." He backed away using a few small steps before turning around and leaving. 

"Yeah, I guess that you could classify me as a rebel." She shrugged before asking, "What could you be classified as?"

"Asleep? I don't really do much else."

You know, Clovis, you’ll have to ask him, but I think yes.

"I'm going to take your word for it." He stretched his arms. "All this dream talk... Wouldn't mind having it again.
