I know this is supposed to reference how miners used to use canaries to find their way back through shafts, but the wording itself is fueling my delusions and I thought I’d share. Free is in quotations, as if to mimic sarcasm. Obviously, I took this with more effort than it’s worth, but it’s honestly such a good metaphor for da capo’s little hunting game with a specific lamb in question. Not only have we seen Alice having huge ties to birds (nightingales, etc.), but it’s a fun little gimmick to think about since for some oddball reason I find it as an allegory.
