#The Most Beautiful Romantic Hug I’ve Seen In My Entire Life
really annoying that robby's latent misogyny and the misogyny of the writing team is so controversial of a topic because if people were actually open to discussing it without treating it as character hate there could be so much said about how misogyny manifests in the workplace, how misogyny affects people's view of nurses, how misogynoir is rendered invisible, etc. why do the writers have robby refer to the pitt as being his er? why does dana emphasize that emma is one of her nurses as a challenge to this? what assumptions does robby make about baran before he gets to know her? why does he give whitaker relative free rein with patients and let him teach med students as an intern, as opposed to female characters who have more experience? why did whitaker assume in s1 that a black female patient was drug-seeking, and then take a white male patient at his word later on? when it comes to the writing in general, why did the writers decide to cast a black woman as the profit-obsessed hospital director? why were so many aspects of black motherhood excluded from collins's storyline? discussing the biases present in media that you enjoy is like the baseline for feminist critique i need everyone to start being serious people rn
I wish all Black girls a clear shot at this world. I wish all Black girls a full belly. I wish all Black girls a respite from their many troubles. I wish all Black girls nothing but grace, prosperity, and ease. Black girls I am hoping for your continued safety and success every single day.
people of colour deserve to be able to enjoy fluff and escapism and transformative media and silly fandom stuff the same way that everyone else is allowed to, i think. there’s a lot of unexamined hostility toward anyone who isn’t white; sometimes it’s subtle, and sometimes it’s not. there needs to be far more love and support for poc, and far less defensiveness and tolerance regarding racism in spaces like these.
