Shit, I forgot I have a tumblr.

So I know have a job making art for games, here’s my level designs for a vampire cafe in our upcoming project “Wailing Heights”. 

This was about 3 weeks of pretty solid work and I loved every second of it. I got pretty detailed with the lines because I wanted each environment to feel rich with items and not too sparse.

I done this for a buddy of mine, his kid is a big fan of the Iron Giant so I popped him in a scene. This was actually really tough to get right, It’s hard to get a 3D object right like that but I think I got it in the end.

Bit of self reflection incoming,

I completed the top painting sometime in October 2010, and I remember being super proud of myself when I finished it. I spent a long time at it and i’m pretty sure it was one of my first digital paintings. Not so sure about it now though. When you draw almost everyday, and now I do it for a living (which is just as amazing as you would think) sometimes you’re too close to see your progress, you only see your mistakes or things you simply just can’t do, yet.  So it’s always nice when you can place your improvements right next to a piece you were once sure was the best you could do, it just makes it seem worthwhile. How much can you learn in 5 years? turns out quite a lot. The bottom painting was done in about an hour as a test of a new tablet and there is a little bit of an improvement, if I do say so myself.

Not everything needs to be a big grand exercise in learning and bettering yourself, sometimes a sketch is enough, your brain makes your decisions for you and end up with something that you just had fun doing.
