thinking about eva stratt again. like yeah, of course, a woman will always be the scapegoat for all of humanity's suffering. she always has been.
adam, too, wanted the forbidden fruit, but only once eve had taken the first bite. he would share in her knowledge but not her pain. yes, all suffered the consequences of the original sin, but only she would take the blame.
yeah. of course. history major eva stratt. whipping boy of the world. she knew from the start all of her efforts would be thankless because they would not be without great sacrifice, from everyone, and she went on with it anyway. pushed and pushed and pushed because *there is no time*. there's no time! no time to fear the weight of the world that crushed her shoulders. no time to fear the sword hanging over her head. no time to fear being cast from the garden and severed from God and His (G)race.
she gave humanity the chance to live knowing they would hate her for it. and isn't that just the nature of a woman? to be blamed for the power you are or are not given?
